Well seeing that every time I start a Bronco game thread, we lose.

So maybe my streak will continue and I'll jinx the other NCHC teams:

UMD @ SCSU

CC @ Miami
UMD UP 1-0 after the first period. Bulldogs look great on the big sheet
surprised Miami and CC are still scoreless in the 3rd.
There's a Miami goal.
haha, no one wants to start or comment on the Bronco game

its working though :)))))))))
Only nightly conference threads only.
...and that's why. /relurks.
I know, it's all my fault. Should of kept my big mouth shut.......
Kovacs' goal was sweet, good to have him back
****
UMD on the road downs SCSU in OT on the big sheet

UMD is 42-1-5 when they score 3 or more goals. Impressive stat
Well, that was frustrating.
This is just like last year, out play Denver for 2 periods but give up 5 goals and lose by 1.

So tomorrow, will we only give up 1 goal, but wont score and also lose by 1??

This was/is very winnable series/game

Saw some very different line combinations up front. 3 of the 4 lines produced goals in addition to a Broncos power play goal.
People are going to say I'm crazey and a hommer, but honestly, after watching several games of each of the NCHC teams this year (thanks to NCHC.TV), this Bronco team is right there. Grant it, they are 0-3 in conference play so far, but I'm telling you, baring injuries, this team is going to be as good as any in the NCHC come tournament time.

I really like this team. They are a very balanced team, with speed, skill, size and grit. I still don't think Murray has figured out his forward line combinations and when this happens, look out.
About the most I dare say is that we have more talent than our record would indicate. We have not learned how to win close games yet. Hopefully we get this turned around soon.
Our defensive needs to challange shooters more, get bodies in front of the puck carrier and force them to make a pass. It seemed like last night we were sitting on the passing lanes and a couple of times denver players were able to walk right in and put a shot on net (and score). This happened on the last goal and the 4th goal as well.

IDK, not sure you want your defensemen to do that. Defensemen are educated to stay between the dots. When they get beyond those dots, they open up ice behind them for scoring chances and worse yet, if they get beat like what Kovacs did to Van Vories (sick goal by the way) your going to have guys walking in point blank with grade "A"scoring chances. Sometimes it's better to push them wide out of a scoring chance area, forcing them to either take a bad angle shot or make a pass back to were you got support

Neither the 4th goal or 5th would be consider ligitment scoring chances. They both came from bad angles...
that's a fair point. You have to at least make them think twice about just skating towards the net and shooting. Passing lanes are important but you have to make the puck carrier uncomfortable, otherwise bad things happen.
