Full Version: I Guarantee EMU Will Beat CMU

I have seen much growth in our football team. We have many weaknesses but I Guarantee an EMU victory if:

1) Our wide receivers concentrate and catch the ball. Even our preseason All Mac TE had two key drops that could have changed the outcome of the NIU game. So far, the receiving core has been a huge weakness to overcome. In contrast, UMASS have big strong quick receivers who can catch. If our receivers catch expected passes and don't become a hindrance then this boded well for a victory.
2) Defense must make adjustments quickly. We did not respect UofBs QB to run the ball and he burned us. We let NIU QB burn us for a long TD run. After that, EMU placed a spy on their QB and stagnated their system. We can't let CMU QB scramble for 1st downs.
3) We need the DL to get 3 sacks and place pressure on CMU QB. Not much pressure last week.
4) Need our safeties to show continuous improvement and manage Davis to a respectable game ( 200 yards max passing).
5) Absolutely must win turn over battle
6) No stupid penalties negating our offense or by our defense that would allow CMU to extend their drives. We have one OL that had 4 false starts against UMASS and a big hold against NIU. Can't beat ourselves.
7) Need Reggie to pass for 200, run for 40 and need RBs to gain a total of 130 yds
8) Based on the improved play and coaching, i expect a victory this week!
I hope you're right. Nothing could make me happier.
If Rawls is out, I like our chances. I remember last year when Tipton went for like 200 on us, and Rawls could very easily do the same.

Really, the initial post is a lot of "ifs" that haven't been very consistent this year. Guaranteeing a win is a bit silly, but I do think it will be pretty competitive.

Given the number of "Ifs" if they came through, we'd probably beat UofM. instead of CMU. 03-idea
Guarantee? Wow, I will have to take your word for it.
One thing I think you can guarantee with our team this year is inconsistency from game to game no one knows what to expect.
It's all about #2. If Rawls really can't play -- push CMU to be 1-dimensional. That was the difference between them STOMPING @Purdue VS getting stomped by Syracuse At Home and losing solidly to @Kansas.

Without a running game, they'll be floundering. Have a man ON Davis, while also playing zone so you can keep people around him otherwise + not then run wild on the run.

EMU's D isn't that bad. On your home turf (which by the way is an Extra advantage due to field + jerseys, even to viewers at home) you have a head start as far as positioning yourselves, etc. I think if you Capitalize on keeping CMU in check and not moving it much -- your O will be on the field long enough, and comparatively, keep the score close in the very least.

Problem is, CMU has like, the best D in our conference that ya didn't know about, statistically. And that's after playing Toledo & NIU. You'll need the O to be not-so-predictable. You combine the above with that? Winner winner chicken dinner, possibly. Of course don't count on it -- but don't count it out either -- it wouldn't be a big shocker. But at least make them earn any win if they do -- every inch.
Any other awesome guarantees, Jimmy the Greek?

Like you, of all people, should laugh at anyone's guarantees.
I was referring to EMUs cross CV country team, not our inept football team :-)

CMU tells Creighton and company you have a long way to go before you can compete against us.......
Lol
Just stop posting already...

Congrats on your win. You guys have a pretty solid football team. I'm envious. If only they had a less dooshy fan base...
Quite possibly the worst "guarantee" since the time somebody "guaranteed" the Christian would defeat the lion. My God, what an ass kicking. 3 more to come.
I think you meant "guaransheed". 03-lmfao
To be fair, the guarantee was based on meeting 8 different requirements.
