Four SunBelt teams are projected for this year's bowl season.

I am starting to believe we have a chance to place six if App gets to 6-6.

If the power ratings favorites all win you only get 74 eligible and they project App to get to 6-6 allowing GaSo and App to fill the last two bowl slots.

If there was ever a year that a 6-6 SBC team could make a bowl this is it.

I sure wouldn't want to play Miami again.

Only way App gets to 6-6 involves winning in Lafayette or Jonesboro. I'm not taking bets on those odds.

It would be stAte or USA (maybe GS) because the New Orleans Bowl will invite you guys as soon as you get to 7 wins and of course ULL will accept the invite cause you know the crowd will be huge again.

If all of the favorites win the games they are favored in for the rest of the season the 6+ win Sun Belt teams will be:
GS 9-3
ULL 9-3
stAte 9-3
USA 6-6
TX St 6-6

So to answer your question that would make GS #1 in the conference (co-champions) but #5 to go to a bowl from the conference should the stars align...

Remember the Loser Tech game? Yeah, Miami would smoke Loser Tech.

Both AAC and CUSA have backup deals with Independence Bowl, so unfortunately Sun Belt can't go to this bowl (unless ACC and SEC can't fill slots and CUSA and AAC can't fill backup agreement).

I don't think AAC will have anyone to send. If ECU wins out they might not fill all they have.

CUSA will probably have two more than they have spots for, and I think Marshall running the table is more likely than ECU so they may only have one spare in which case I-Bowl will have to be open on both sides and I don't see that.
