Great scoop. Anybody got video on this guy?
No other D1 offers. This one is a head scratcher.

Just glad we got him. The coaches know what they are doing.

Welcome Emmanuel

Forgive me for noting that after the job Fuente and staff have done, they should get the benefit of the doubt.

How can you seriously second guess this staff. Lynch, Cross, Cooper, Mayhue, and Jackson Dillon didn't have sexy offers and they are hell of players for us. I don't care what their offer list or stars look like with this staff evaluating. They earned the benefit of the doubt and football recruiting is different from basketball.

It was well noted that if florida didnt get a commit from Mornhinweg that they were gonna go after Lynch but you are correct on the staffs evaluation process.

I am 100% behind this coaching staff, and they're ability to evaluate talent. It just appears to me that this is the type of kid you take when others higher on the board commit elsewhere. Cooper's other offer: Ouachita Baptist.

In football, a guy like this every once in a while doesn't shock me. You've got 85 scholarships so taking a flyer on a kid with good measurables or a huge upside is not such a weird decision as when someone does it in basketball. Cooper will have 5 years to lift weights, study and drill. If an 18 year old kid takes that seriously, I wouldn't bet against too many making an impact by their fifth season.

If you wait til later, you may be competing with Ok St, Mizzou or Ark instead of Ouachita Baptist .

If J. Fuente recruited him this is not a head scratcher. Justin knows how to build a team. The improvement we've seen this year has been exciting and incredible. The Liberty Bowl should have 50,000 for this Friday night's game.
It wasn't that Baptist school. Maybe they offered him, but maybe they'll offer Skal too.
He DID receive offers from Central Ark., Arky State and Memphis.
Arky, Auburn and Alabama also spent a little time recruiting him.

Anyway, he's obviously worthy of a D1 scholly- at MOST programs.
There was also a Jarvis Cooper that played hs ball in Philadelphia.
He is a diminutive 5' 6" and 149 lbs. Could be some of the bigger schools got them confused when talking about Jarvis Cooper.

If our staff likes him, I like him.

Welcome Emmanuel!

I was with you til the last part.

Queer that with basketball we get top recruits we can't do anything with and in football we get lower level recruits that play great.

Maybe it's coaching?
I'm much less concerned about signing a no/low star in football than in basketball. In football, the evaluation process is really difficult...especially in finding diamonds in the rough. Hell, Manziel was a three star and Arkelon Hall was a 4 or 5 star.

You find a kid that likes to hit, has a desire for the game and a frame that can add size and you are in a good spot.

What was Danton Barto rated out of high school?
