If s.miss, rice , uab or western Kentucky beat marshall. The league should punish them, for costing the conference big money.
Tech's going to beat them in the Championship Game in Huntington just like what USM did to Houston

It's going to be an old fashioned beat off, it could get really anal

Nope - if we play like we did today Marshall will destroy us. We need to get another W next week

Lol
Didn't matter when we knocked off USM, didn't matter when USM knocked off Houston, and doesn't matter now.
If Marshall wants the crown let them earn it. Money be damned!

Agreed. The only way to claim it: earn it.

Uh, no beat offs please. EagerEagle did that and it made him go blind!
One game at a time. I'm convinced that's all LA Tech can handle.
how much $$ is the access bowl worth for the top G5 school and conference?

Doesn't matter, because we'll never see the money. Because LA Tech is going to beat Marshall. So don't bother trying to cash your "access bowl" check yet. 04-rock
Agreed that it's waaaaay too soon to be crowning anyone anything. Conferences I believe I read max out at 15MM per Conf.(us little guys, not the bigs)(w/ bonus amts. due to 4 yr. avg. APR's of 300K/team in the conference that make the grades).

Houston counted the champ game as a fait accompli and we all know how that turned out. Rice, DEFENDING CHAMP RICE, seems to be back to kicking serious arse. UAB has always been a nightmare for MU in Birmingham. WKU scores at will. If Marshall doesn't keep focused, they've got NO chance at winning out, and they'll probably need to be extremely lucky if the ball bounces their way regardlessly.

LA Tech struggled against a back-up QB with a limited playbook. I am not sure they will even be in the championship game when the dust settles

Did I read a sports ticker I may have seen last night stating that Marshall's hired a firm of some kind to lobby for them to get a slot on that 4 team ripoff, I mean, playoff? I'm sorry, IMO, it's not gonna work at all, but when (not if) Marshall and all of these 1-loss teams not named Notre Dame get excluded from the "dance of deception", there should be a collective and resounding backlash upon those who were allowed to establish such an insult to college football...I can't believe I found myself agreeing with Lou Holtz of all people, this morning on "College Football Final", in that "verdict" segment he has with Mark May, this time the subject was conference champions as opposed "best teams" being selected for national title games, but you all know where I stand on this by now, anyway, I want ALL conference champions from ALL division 1/FBS schools to have a place in a playoff, not just the ones that some (bleeping) politicians and sports media tools get to choose like they did in 2011, 2007 & 2004. I just don't see how this move by Marshall is going to give them a seat at the table, but as a proponent of a true and inclusive playoff, They wouldn't have to worry about bureaucracy if based on their on field merits thus far this season, their spot would be, if the season ended today, rightfullly earned, as it should be for all. This 4 team, selection committee 01-rivals makes me really want to 03-puke, but if Marshall's endeavors bring this farce of a postseason format to the forefront (if I were the G5 Conferences, I'd consider an antitrust lawsuit), then I'm all for it, because not only will be of benefit to the Thundering Herd, but all Division 1A Conferences as well, because this is not indicative of a NATIONAL championship if certain conferences and their representatives are systematically and deliberately excluded. IIt's that simple....
Winning games against "bad" teams once you get ranked becomes a little harder.

The conference hired the firm. They are just showcasing us right now for the publicity for CUSA.
I'm sure that Southern Miss, Rice, UAB, and Western Kentucky will all bring their "A" games when playing us, and I wouldn't have it any other way. No one expects anything different, and that's as it should be.
