I think if you're bringing out black and white photos, the point is valid.

From a marketing standpoint, it's dumb for either school to use the initials unless you purposely want to be confused.

You would think a start up would want to create a unique brand. Southern figured that out a long time ago. It's State that is continuing the confusion at this point. There are so many better ways to market yourselves.

The only schools that use their acronym for the primary logo, have unique acronyms.

And typically "State" schools in basketball like NC State and Michigan State used just State on their jerseys or the location and state. As did we. I don't feel like digging through the GSU archives again.

Honestly, I could care less about the GSU thing. Yall claim it, so have it. I'm glad my school has distanced itself from what is now a tarnished brand name. Just wish the rest of our fans would let it go.

Don't see that happening anytime soon when the linked article portrays our use of GSU as the key event that made Eagle fans hate us.

I'll be honest. Back to the marketing point, I wish we used STATE more. I know UGA has laid claim to this is our state or something like that, but STATE of Atlanta wouldn't be half bad. Welcome to the Blue State. It seems there is some low hanging fruit there somewhere.
