Report is finally out. 18 years of systemic academic fraud covering several thousand athletes, perpetrated by numerous faculty and staff.

Sadly, my view on this is that if anything lasting comes of this, it will be to further separate the P5 conferences, because they may try to use this as an argument as to why we should just go ahead an pay athletes and break away from the NCAA, because of course, it was probably the NCAAs fault.

But hey, I'm just a cockeyed optimist....
McCants wanted to play ball there. He was admitted to school, I'm assuming on [ahem] scholarship. He never had to go to class during the 4 years he was there. He played in the NBA through 2009, then dropped to the development league and foreign teams since.

Now he's claiming UNC exploited him for money. Gimme a break.

To some extent it might, but I doubt it happens as much at the G5 schools since there isn't quite as much pressure to get wins at any cost.

also because there is less money to pay people to shut up about such things - or to be able to hide them better.

It's disgusting. And Roy Williams denied all of it. King of takes the luster off the Dean Smith persona.
