According to Wagerline.com, XU is favored over Illinois (12-2) tonight by 1 1/2 points. Might be a good time to make a couple dollars on Illinois.

Doesn't Illinois have a ton of injuries? That could be why EGGS is favored...

XU also has their backs big time agianst the wall.. and playing at US.. if they could fill it.. (not that they could...) it would be a better than home court advantage..
I know it's not a lock, but if XU doesn't get out of that wimp mode they are in they won't beat any decent team. Hurt or not I'm going with Illinois all the way. Don

IL has a not so good coach. Eggs has a horrible coach. He must have nekid pics of somebody.
Its the injuries. I still think IL will win, but without the injuries they would definitely be favored.

No matter how much the forum hates Xavier...this is a huge RPI win for Cincy if X can pull it out.

Gotta pull for Xavier.

Gotta pull for Xavier.

RPI is going to be irrelevant this year. We will not be on the bubble for the NCAA tourney so who gives a crap about RPI?

Go Illini

Such negativity and bad karma existing on this board.

I am in the Cincinnati Bearcats thead?

Right?

Right?

I am not nearly as negative as some here, just realistic about this season. I believe we have a good chance to worry about our RPI next season if everything goes the way it should, but this season I am hoping we make the NIT which I think very well could happen.

Well you can wait then.

I choose not to.

You tend to feel that way when you've been a Bearcat fan as long as I am.

Notice my moniker?

That's my graduation year.

As an old baseball player once said.

"it ain't over until it's over"

And until Cincy's been officially eliminated. I'll be a hold out.

Even if I'm the only one.
Well you are setting yourself up for dissappointment then. We would have to go at a minimum of 8-8 in conference and probably win a couple of BE tourney games to get in since our RPI would be pretty low. The chances of this happening are very unlikely (I won't say impossible so you can hang on to some hope) and I just don't see it happening. The NIT is a good goal for this year's team considering the state of the program at the end of last season.

Dissappointment was when Cincy lost a 7 point lead to Michigan late in the Final Four. When Cincy lost to UNC in OT in the E8. When KMart broke his leg. When Huggins got canned.

I don't expect them to make the NCAA. But I will still hope for it.

Well you can hope in one hand and crap in the other....

Mr Happy

Weird game. Xavier shot horribly. Neither Burrell or Duncan were factors. Everyone else shot lousy for Xavier too.

The entire difference in the game, and I don't know if it was home cookin' or not.........was that Illinois had 29 fouls to Xavier's 16. Illinois shot like 8 FT's and Xavier shot like 36 FT's.

Weird, weird game.

I don't recognize hardly anyone on Illinois' lineup. They don't look very formidable to me. I think X fans will make this out to be a bigger win than it probably is. Plus I heard Illinois is suffering with injuries.
This was a big win. Did we just beat the 1983 Tar Heels? No. But we beat a very good team tonight, and I think that will be even more evident as the year goes on.

I had no idea that was the standard bearer. I am not trying to make fun of you, I just think it is interesting that is what you pulled out of the hat for beating a great team. ;-)

It was intentionally sarcastic, being equally ridiculous on the other end of the spectrum to Chatter's post that we really didn't beat anyone.

You are right, they may not have Perkins, Worthy & Jordan, but a win against the Illini can always be considered a good win.
