As much grief as we've gotten for the atmosphere in the Dome, I think it's had some big benefits for us. I'm also tall and like to have arm and leg room.
With that said, I think I will prefer the atmosphere if we're able to secure a smaller stadium for ourselves (or at least the MLS-configured new Falcons stadium).
Id rather have a small sold out stadium every week like ODU, NDSU or Montana any day over a mid size empty stadium with a terrible atmosphere like MTSU
Obviously App State doesn't pay a lot of attention to percentage over capacity when we have run
for years at up to 151% or 153% of capacity. Last couple years with new coaching staff and poor
results have us down to around capacity but still not terrible considering the product on the field
both years. Our administration has always been conservation second only probably to JMU. Charlie
Cobb said we would expand as soon as we got the FBS OK. Then ignored that. Some may have
been due to Chancellor turnover and desire to finish paying off huge upgrades just a few years ago
but still has been disappointing. We are probably going to have some wet rear ends sitting on the
end zone hill if our team keeps getting better, especially next year.
