Barry has been campaigning on the success of the market. Lets see what he has to say now, as if he had a clue how the market works.

You libs just can't help yourself. Obama mouths off and you chime in with the basic reply. Next you will say the market going south is Bush's fault. I know I have to be careful how I respond to you since you are on the protected list here. I better stop.

I'm as financially conservative as they come. Much more so than the group that got banned yesterday, as a matter of fact.

The Republicans called for the bailout, the Democrats went along. The Republicans helped inflate the market, they are just as guilty when it deflates because of that.

Guess I better agree. Since you are protected, I don't dare upset you.

The republicans aren't in the WH and campaigning on the economy and the market.

No need for you to come running to his defense here. He earned his share of the blame the last 6 years.

Yes and no. The policies in place right now are nearly entirely democratically created and endorsed. It's hard to transfer ownership to Republicans given who is in charge of the Fed. Many Republican governors have been taking actions in their states that are completely opposite the actions taken on the federal level and have shown markedly better economic results.
I don't think this is a second crash, but it will be a quite painful correction at the worst possible time for democrats.

I live in a state that has done that (Ohio) and I'm perfectly okay with what Kasich has done. He's actually gone with true republican ideals. The current republican leaders in congress have not done that, thus I have zero faith in them.

I had nothing to do with yesterday. You guys can give it up.

I stand by what I typed. The current republicans in congress are not fiscally conservative and are just as guilty as the democrats. I also agree with 200yrs2late that the republican governors have it right, but I completely disagree with the republicans at the federal level.

When he was first elected he was talking about funding R&D from the state treasury. Is he still doing that? In general, Taft's 3rd Frontier program has been an abject failure.

I was at an Ohio university last summer and received a tour of a facility they have for industrial product line development. Idea is for companies to bring their production plans there, and this university will use students to work out issues.

Cost was over 7 figures just to get the renovations. The space was being used, but sparsely.

I asked what the ROI to date was. Response? "I don't think we have any returns as of yet."
Just hit -400 on the day, entering HOLY SH*T territory.

Fine, stand by what you typed. It's bull****.

I don't love the current GOP, but I won't blame them for the Dems complete failures.
Fortunately, I'm 50% in bonds, and about 7% in cash, so I've got something to buy into this bottom whenever it arrives, but it still sucks feeling like I'm left holding the bag with the other 43% of my money.

Do any of you guys have insight on markets, or do you all just spew partisan bullsh*t back and forth all day?

Not completely familiar in that area. I do know that he immediately came in and cut budgets around the whole state and balanced the budget. No doubt that pretty much all of Taft's ideas were terrible.

I've never heard of that program either, but it is intriguing. Seems like a better way to go would be China or Taiwan as they have all the new factories that produce in that way.

This. Leadership on both sides need a fresh face.

I blame both parties as they brought us to this point. They allowed a bubble to be made beginning in 2008 with the Wall Street bailout. A correction was sure to come eventually, and it appears it is on our doorstep.

I'm not going to blame Obama for everything when the Republicans were pushing for many of the policies under Bush. Both parties share blame here.
