I did not realize how heavily recruited he was. He had offers from all over the place (SEC, ACC, PAC-12). I didn't have a great view of the floor at HOTH, was he the one with the mohawk?

I know last year his production was limited, what should we expect from him this year?

Thought so, then someone standing next to me kept saying that it was Haha. So I was a little confused. What are the expectations for him this year?
Beast-mode this year... At least, that is MY expectation. He's a talented dude.

I hope so! Do you think he will be a starter?
Yep. He is big, strong, and athletic. He has great touch around the rim. Our offense isn't going to run through him, but I'm hoping we can get 8,8, and 2 blocks out of him this year. Hopefully he can log 25-30 minutes a game as well if needed. Fouls really held him back at times last year.
Not sure... I'm not around to see him in practice so far. But, watching him last year, he was aggressive, played above the rim when he was in, and really never got out-hustled. So, it is my expectation that with a year of development and coaching, he would improve his floor spacing and movements- to the point that he would spend more time making plays and less time chasing them and making some phenomenal ones based on sheer athleticism alone (which he did on several occasions).
Did he make the trip to Spain? And if he did, was he able to contribute?
Yes he traveled & contributed.
I wouldn't try and read anything into his contributions there since it was against club teams.

You may wish to peruse uabsports.com under basketball to help answer some of your questions.

For example previous news articles on basketball: http://www.uabsports.com/sports/m-baskbl...c-rel.html

Also there are links to media guides for various sports that have a lot of historical info in them.

This year's basketball media guide isn't out there yet, but the previous year's is.

Looking at the new articles for the Spain trip, Mehinti had a lot of rebounds in each game and a few points in each.

Size like that is hard to find. Everybody wants guys that big, especially when they are athletic too.

Sounds about right. He will likely be one of the focal points on defense. Anything on offense is almost a bonus. I bet most of his points will come from putbacks and mismatches. Definitely agree that he needs to keep his fouls down so he can stay on the court longer. (Same for CJ, but that's off-topic.)
Yeah, I was excited about getting him a couple of years ago. He should be ready to be a force this year!
