That kind of stuff just makes me mad, as you might expect. It's the typical BS that if you have a certain name on the front of your jersey you just can't be any good. I think Akron is a team with a pulse, as is Middle, UAB, Rice and even FIU at this point in the season.
The Massey Composite ranking now has us at #20, so the computers that aren't biased based on team name, seem to think we actually have to play teams and beat them, think we are doing okay.
If our conference doesn't have a pulse what's that say about the other G5 conferences we dominated OOC?
The perception is that if you're not P5 you suck. But... that's not exactly true. Marshall is probably better than at least half of the teams above it in the poll. I bet Marshall would even give Mississippi State a game. Depending on how they fare against UAB (if it's a blowout) you could even go so far as to say that they could crush CLANGA CLANGA State.

That is a good common opponent comparison game, though FIU kind of ruined any kind of ability to compare those margins. But still, a 30pt margin of victory vs UAB (highly unlikely, i believe this will be a very close game that we get lucky to win down there) would bode well for us with the committee. Especislly if UAB comes in at 7-2 when we play.

Marshall has it's destiny in it's own hands as we did in 2011. We failed and lost to Marshall and UAB. Will The Herd lose to someone unexpectedly? Probably

I would probably take FIU a bit more seriously had they not lost to Bethune Cookman.
