The West was going to have a great day until UNT redshirt freshman QB decided to spot UAB 3 Tds. UNT is not as bad as the score. The West is pretty even with the east.
I think you mean UAB ruined the west. We made those plays happen.

Also, we're a western team as of next season so you can claim us if you want to.
As bad as Tech was last year, I can't throw a stone at UNT. Plus Carlos Harris played at my daughter's HS. It will turn around for you when you get a QB.

I think the NT QB was confused by the fact that they are the Mean Green and he was looking at a lot of green jerseys who were being pretty mean to him. So he kept throwing to them.

Actually, we're probably worse. I'll be surprised if we win more than two games in all of conference play.

That said, UAB is a solid team. If they were in the West, I think they'd be a contender for the division.

Sounds reasonable to me, especially the 2nd half interception.

In his defense, dude was wide open.

Our problems are bigger than just the QB position. We are as bad as yesterday's score. Our secondary can't defend against the deep ball. With the exception of Harris, our receivers drop passes. Our front 7 are not getting to the QBs. Our O-line isn't protecting our QB like they did last season. We might just finish last in the west.

Every time we went play action for those bombs was because you had 8-9 guys in the box. The problem was you couldn't consistently stop our run game.
We only rushed for 152 yards. I think their plan was to make Clements beat them with his arm, and he did.

Well, that, and the 5 turnovers.
UNT has a serious issue w/turnovers... 03-banghead

They were tied for 2nd in the conference at +3 before yesterday. UAB was -8
Here's hoping some of these trends continue. We need every break we can get!

Who will USM and UAB get for crossover games when that happens? I'd prefer Marshall (the only team in the East that can remember USM being good, and a team I respect from way back) or MTSU (an hour drive for away games for me and my second favorite new addition after LTech).

Since no one at the C-USA Office has called and asked my opinion, has anyone heard how this will work?
I would guess no permanent crossover game. Rotate through the 7 teams, 2 at a time.

Corrected.

We're not as bad as we looked Saturday but right now it's hard to see us getting more than maybe a couple of more wins. A four win season would be miserable.

There's some serious gloom in Denton.

You need a 9 game conference schedule win one permanent crossover with a 14 team league

UNT lost a lot of experience from last year. Next year you will be back on track very likely. Might even start picking it up this year, you never know.

that would be a great way to further become irrelevant

why not just go with a 12 conference game schedule then you can just crown your own champion and move on

it would be smarter to go with a 7 game conference schedule and if needed let teams choose a cross division rival.....at leas then there is a chance of relevancy

and for those that doubt just take the schedule Marshall Marshall Marshall has and subtract one OOC game from it and sub in another CUSA game......there might not be a huge change with the OOC from this year, but then sub in another conference game for all the CUSA and remove an OOC game and add in the increased guaranteed losses that additional conference games bring and watch the overall conference strength go down the tubes along with the chances for any school to make a claim to be in an access bowl ever
The UNT o-line couldn't stop UAB's pass rush, that was part of the problem.
