I wish we didn't have to put up with BCSN covering us at home. Really has to impact attendance even though the games are well produced. Talked to Athletic Dept folks at Downtown Coaches and their info is that since ESPN needs a local feed when they do the games BCSN provides it and then has it on their network.
Mixed feelings since The Blah again is not helping us with attendance robbing telecast but we do get the exposure. Wish we could have our cake and eat it too.03-banghead
Someone would prefer to watch a home game on BCSN vs. coming to the game? Who are these people? Watching the game on BCSN is like watching Libby playing Macomber.
Only 1 of 4 home games this year has been on BCSN.

The bsu game would have been a good one for bcsn because so many people left during the delay. The other ones fans should have come out. For hc and bg the stands will be pretty full. Not many will stay and watch from home over the atmosphere. Unless rain of course.
Nothing is worse than Tom Cole doing color commentary on a football game.
The more exposure the better. Many of those riding the couch watching UT wouldn't come to a game anyway. It's another outlet to build interest and exposure especially when people have more options than ever on how to spend their time and entertainment dollars. Long gone are the days of football being the fall sports monolith.
I like it. It gives me chance to set the DVR, in-case something magical happens. People have complained about the Blade at various times, for not enough coverage. I'm sure they would be complaining if BCSN showed BGSU games and not Toledo games.
First TOLEDO ROCKET game I ever saw in person was the Indiana game that Tait blew his knee out. I wanted to see that man play. I'm 62 yrs old and missed a lot. I have been buying season tickets from that time on. Just love UT football. I grew up in Northwood Ohio moved to Hillsdale mi. in 2002 and will not stay home and watch on tv.

I went to Olney from kindergarten through 4th grade, then Raymer (Waite) for a year and over to Oregon, Ohio after that. Curious - where did you live growing up in Northwood?

The one benefit to bcsn comes from the post game reruns. Over the weekend I could have watched the Buffalo vs Big girl state university at multiple times over the weekend without getting on a computer or dvr. I would take Tim Cole any day over Michael Reighi (sp?) It drives me crazy how he says Toledooooos Rockets.
I thought our last home game against CMU with multiple other local football games of interest happening around the same time, a baseball game that seemed like a big deal at the time, and being shown live on the BCSN, that attendance was going to turn out way worse than it actually did.

Didn't realize Tom Cole was involved with anything unrelated to Toledo area high school athletics. That's all he ever seemed to want to talk about in any endeavor I've seen him in. I can't imagine watching a Rocket game and having the announcer rambling on about St. Francis this and Saint John's that, or having Tom Cole try to refrain from doing that.
Actually the color commentator was John Ross I believe along with the play by play of a pretty good younger announcer. Go Rockets.
