@AlbertBreer: Chip Kelly said with Brad Smith out, James Casey becomes the emergency quarterback in Philly.
Here is a hypothetical scenario for everyone. Coach Bailiff has gone on record as stating that Thor would have been the QB in 2009 had he not left early. How well would Rice have fared? Keep in mind the following:
Tom Hermann left after 2008, so we hired Zaunbrecher
Taylor McHargue was redshirted in 2009
No Jarrett Dillard
First year for Luke Wilson and Vance McDonald
3 QB race that year between Fanuzzi, JT, and Lewis
Could Rice have bettered a 2-10 record? Were there enough games that Casey could have been the difference and ease the transition to McHargue in 2010? Would staying an extra year helped Thor's draft prospects (assuming no injuries)?
I'm sure a few folks saw it too, but Casey just caught a TD pass on prime time this evening. Nice to see him contribute in yet another way

Good for him. I still think he's wasting his time in Philly and could be starting for the Texans. But at least he's more likely to be making the playoffs in Philly than Houston this year.
I agree. It killed me when the Texans let him go. Seemed like such a great fit on several levels.
