Prepare for a loss to Liberty. We won't win another game. It isn't that Liberty is this flaming hot team. It is that we are pretty much a high school team.
I don't know, before the season I thought App would win both FCS games, two of USM/GaSt/Idaho, and one of USA/Troy/ULM, with the GaSo games as a toss up for 5 or 6 wins. Now having seen the team, 5 wins is still possible, but now it's more likely two of LU/Troy/GaSt/Idaho for 3 wins on the season. The problem is App looked much worse against USA than they did against USM (a game they should have won big were it not stupid mistakes) and GaSo (a game that probably could have been much closer). The guys just looked dreadful again USA. Should beat Liberty, but those guys will be up for the game while I'm not sure our guys will.
I think its hard for transition teams to "stay up" week after week to better competition. What App is experiencing is not unusual. That and the depth issue will just take its toll. With more scholarships and a recruiting advantage, it will turn around in a few years.
If Liberty were an elite FCS team that competed for national championships, they would have a shot at getting an invite despite the other issues. As it stands now, they continue to be a mediocre FCS team so their inability to get a SBC invite is their own fault.
Liberty was tied in their game yesterday. Had the other team kick a FG with 8 seconds left in the game to go ahead by three.
They took the kick off, made one pass to set up their own FG with 2 seconds left in the game. Then kicked it
through to tie the game and send it into overtime. Oh yeah, the FG Liberty kicked was 60 yards.
In the meantime, our punter is told to do a Rugby style kick to avoid the return. How far did it go before it went
out of bounds? No idea. Seemed like ten yards maybe.

Good news Apps70, for the first time this season we were dealing with a significant rash of injuries going into the Richmond game. Nick Sigmon LB (shoulder) and O’Grady LB (arm) are out and there’s no telling how many games they may miss. Running back Todd Macon (ankle) miss Saturday’s game and running back/kickoff return man Josh Smith (lower leg) is done for the season. See ya Saturday!
