Now that BYU got spanked by Utah St at home during Jim McMahon's big moment, do we still want them in the AAC? BTW, for those that watched the game like me, Taysom Hill was hurt AFTER Utah St starting running away with the game and the injury had nothing to do with the outcome. Anyway, is BYU out and maybe Utah St in? Every time a MWC team gets hot there's speculation on here about snagging them for the AAC western division. BYU, has been overrated all year. Air Force doesn't want in. Boise now knows reality outside of the C5. San Diego St is back to sucking after a couple of good years after 15 straight losing ones...Colorado St has 1 loss and 2 C5 wins. Utah St to the AAC with Colorado St?

BYU has been a winner in the 80's, the 90's, the 00's, and the 10's. One loss in 2014 does not make them less attractive for a long-term membership.
Yes
I don't want anything to do with that cult of a college.

Well, San Diego St has been a loser in the 80's, the 90's the 00's and the 10's and they sure looked (and still look) attractive to a lot of the posters here who want them for a long-term membership. Boise St didn't have a division 1 team in the 80's and most of the 90's and they were slobbered upon over here for a long while. It's the flavor of the month thing that seems to be par for the course here. So, why not Utah St as the new flavor of the month to the AAC?

tnzazz, OK. Who would you like to see BYU paired with? Boise? SDSU? CSU? Army? Would you consider Utah st now?
ill take Colorado st too
Hey GUYS!! How about just keeping this thing the way it is??

I could live with that. There's been a MWC flavor of the week whenever a MWC team wins, and they fall of the list whenever they lose....I'm ok with the western division ending with Houston and SMU

I understand the point you're trying to make, but you're doing it poorly and also wholly misrepresenting the actual period of success teams like Boise State had by equating it to one win. They were the winningest program in collegiate football for 5 years.

Maybe you don't understand my point then. I think what boise did in that 5 year stretch is one of the most amazing things to ever happen in college sports. Saying that, should Boise be dropped from the AAC western wing expansion after a few seasons of 3 or 4 loss seasons? Should San Diego St be pimped the way they were after 1 single winning season in their entire Mountain west history? My point is the "expansion bug" --that s destroying college football-- hits after a team wins a few or loses a few games in a singled season. I could give a million examples

BYU has a P5-like athletic budget, a P5-like attendance, and a P5-like following. They are one of the most valuable schools not in the P5 (if not the most). Even if BYU went winless this year, I'd still want them in the AAC... 07-coffee3
BYU is the only western school I would consider adding. No one else would do anything for us.
Said it before & I will say it again. If you want BYU there's a 99% chance that having USU will be a condition of their joining. And USU has been looking pretty nice in recent years.

I could have said similar things about UCONN a few years ago when you guys were riding high in football..huge budget, flagship, good attendance, big endowment, BCS team etc. I'm willing to bet in 2010 before the conference realignment fiasco hit college football there wasn't a single UCONN fan who'd believe you guys would ever be left behind. That Rutgers and Louisville, heck I'll add Pitt and cuse too, would be taken over you guys. Two bad years in football and the ACC takes 4 schools over you. Two non-bcs teams on a winning streak, Utah and TCU get in, UCONN demoted. No one, would have thought that possible in 2010. My point? BYU, like almost everyone not named Norte Dame and a few others is two losing seasons away from being garbage and Louisiana Monroe (any non cartel 5) is two great seasons away from being on the AAC expansion list.
