I know we are in the middle of FB season, but I am really getting excited for basketball!

I have heard from someone inside the program that "HaHa" could step in and be all conference this year. I have also heard that Cokley looks really good (better than anticipated).

I expect Madison and Washington to lead the way and have really strong seasons this year.

I fear our weakness will definitely be our youth and our PG play since Chad left (got dismissed). Anyone have an idea who will lead the way at point? I know we have a lot of different guards and there will probably be several different faces filling in at times. But just curious who you guys think will get the start.

Does anyone know how our transfers Robert Brown, Hakeem Baxter, and Denzel Collins look?

We are very young but I do believe we have a lot of talent on this team and really hope hope the coaches can put together a tournament team by the end of year.

I would also like to hear your expectations for our team this year.

Again.. I know it early and I still want to enjoy some more football this year, but I am already really looking forward to basketball this year.
Had we not lost Denzel as well to injury, I wouldn't be so worried about replacing Frazier's scoring. I'm hoping the Atlantis tournament will force our team to grow up quick. We need to win all of the games at home before we head off.
Highlights from Spain

Baxter has to sit out this year. If Denzel can't play most of the load will probably fall to frosh Norton, the WBB coach's son. Cokley looks quick and explosive. Brown seems to have improved his jumper. There will be a public scrimmage (to be announced next Monday?)...
So which Denzel will see more time at PG Watts or Collins?
How long will Watts be out?

Don't know how serious Watts' injury is. I don't know if he is even allowed to do anything yet. We need his experience and savvy at the PG - if only part-time. But if he can't play well enough to help the team... Hopefully, he'll be ready to go by start of conference play in Jan in preparation for a late-season run as the freshmen round into shape...

Watts is recovering from injury. Collins will have more minutes in the fall semester. Watts will probably in the spring.

Speaking of which, what is Watts expected time to be back to full health?
PG may be a strength before the season is over. ;-)
Granted I didn't actually see him play,
But I was mightily impressed by the numbers that cokley put up in Spain. I think he should be a solid contributor, at least, for us. This team will live and die by Washington, Brown, and Madison. If they play well, the other guys contribute, and HaHa is as good as advertised, we could be pretty darn good by years end.
I think we struggle early and if the tem gels together no one will want a part of is in late February and March. I'm assuming we stay healthy and players naturally progress. Of course anything can happen as we all know. Hard to put a number on wins without seeing more of these guys play in person. Highlights and just that and not lowlights.
Haha posted he had surgery again a couple of weeks ago. Kinda makes me worry.. This is the 2nd one we know about since last year. If he is healthy I expect a good team but inconsistent similar to last year but with much more talent

Saw that too. Hopefully nothing serious, but it does make me worry.

Is Watts expected to miss an extended period of time?
Starting to think these guys are signing with UAB, not for our top rate basketball team, but because of our top rate medical facilities.
Top rate basketball team? Your funniest line in awhile. 03-lmfao
