seeing as all other football programs harp on old national title wins or x amount of conference titles in a row via merchandise....

how come toledo doesnt have a shirt commemorating when they beat michigan?
There were shirts. I have one or two myself. Probably pretty hard to find anymore, though.
Why? I can see it for a national championship since those are hard to come by, but I expect to beat teams like Michigan every time we play them. Hey, come to think of it.....
Traders world in middletown had em in a little sports lot. Not my size though.
I would think the Penn State one would be more desirable than the UM one.

In a city dominated by scUM and O$U fans the UM shirt has more bite to it. PSU hasn't been good lately so PSU doesn't really sound (as) impressive besides the fact it's a B10 school. The Michigan shirts point a finger at all those who choose the maize and blue over midnight blue and gold. Plus we were aweful that season. Even in a 3-9 year we beat the Wolverines.

Yeah...I guess...but that Michigan team wasn't that great either. They also finished 3-9.

i know.....i'm saying why shouldnt there still be shirts?

OSU and michigan crow about how long they've been playing ball/ how many titles they've won.........toledo should be ramping this up.

I have that shirt. Mine has been worn to hell, and even though I am over 100 pounds lighter than when I bought it, I STILL wear it at least twice a week.04-rock
When we beat Michigan I thought we finished 5-7?
Nah, they were 3-9. Started with a road loss at Arizona, then they won easily at Eastern (I think that was when they played through about a foot of rain), then came back home to lose that OT heartbreaker to Fresno. Next week they put forth one of the most abyssmal efforts in the history of Rocket Football in losing to a dreadful FIU program who had lost 26 of its last 27 games, quite convincingly too, in spite of taking an early 16-0 lead. Then to be destroyed by the Ball State team who almost made the BCS. Next game was Michigan, with absolutely no reason to think we'd even compete, but somehow, they just got all their stuff together just for that one game. But, zero momentum was generated from that win, as they'd proceed to drop contests to NIU, CMU, Akron, and WMU, somewhere along the way Amstutz announced he'd resign at the end of the season. They posted one more win against Miami (Morgan Williams' 330 yard game), but lost their season finale. After the game, Amstutz took a heartfelt walk to the Rocket logo on the 50 yard line, left his shoes out there, and exited the field one last time, but nobody noticed because the band was already out there running around gathering wool, and Mark Beier was livid.
