One report from CoachingSearch.com. says that Univ. of Michigan may be looking at UConn's Warde Manuel or Brad Bates from Boston College if the Big 10 power tosses out Dave Brandon. Good career move for either of these Michigan alumni, but UConn still needs Manuel to help get its own football program in better shape.
It wouldn't surprise me. They canned the guy that hired RichRod to hire this guy, who chose his Michigan Man in Brady Hoke. But if the next guy they hire makes a similar bad move, will he get canned too?

If they keep that up, eventually nobody will want the job.
I think it is just public pressure placed upon him to get rid of Hoke sooner rather than later. If he is able to get a big name replacement, the talk of getting rid of him will miraculously go away.
Brad Bates is the AD who hired Shane Montgomery (turned the great Hoeppner teams into 2-10 ones) and Don Treadwell (possibly the worst football coach in the history of the MAC) at Miami. I hope he gets the job.
he is the most hated AD in college sports right now.

no it's the horrible attendence and his complete alienation of the Michigan fanbase.

Michigan is one of the best jobs in CFB. Any competent AD should be able to hire someone to do at least a solid job there.

When an AD reaches to hire a lightly-regarded guy with a very thin resume, just because he was once an assistant coach at Michigan and thus a "Michigan Man" -- if the guy he hires doesn't do a great job, then the AD better be awesome in every other aspect of his job, or he should be out.
Poor, poor Michigan. They can't just step on the field and beat their competition just by wearing their Princeton-inspired helmets and proclaiming to the opposition that they're Michigan. Looking across the major college sports, no power, except perhaps Duke under Coach K, has been immune to having a dip in their performance. And even Duke is not as dominant as they were during their peak.
I think there is a very good possibility Brandon is out and it's not just the coaching hire. The attendance issue is big and there's been some definite mismanagement there (Coke buying up tickets and offering them free with purchases). I think the blame that falls on him is probably over-stressed, but it will be enough for him to be gone in the not so distant future. I think there's probably also thinking that another AD might have an easier time getting Harbaugh or Les Miles.
For those unfamiliar, boosters at Michigan are a big problem, will threaten to take away their hundreds of millions if Dave is fired, if Jim H is hired, etc. Michigan gives way to much control to their big boosters.
If you have to release a press statement at 1 am, you know your job is in big trouble.

I fully agree. And the AD bears as much responsibility for Michigan allowing a concussed player to go on the field as the coach, if not more. It was the doctor that the AD hired who didn't do his job that gave Hoke the impression that he wasn't hurt as badly as he was.

He's failed miserably at his job, and the university is losing millions of dollars in income because of it. He needs to go. So does the coach he hired.
Their AD's a dead man walking. Hard to say who's going to get the job...it'd be a step up for either the cat from UConn or Boston College, but it'll also be a huge step up in pressure too.
It really isn't a matter of will he be let go at this point, the only question is when.
For the second time in as many days Michigan made a 1 am press release regarding the Morris incident. This pizza man, sorry excuse for an AD just doesn't get it.
