I know the mods get really annoyed at these type of threads, but I feel like I need to defend the SBC tonight...

Here was some discussion on the CUSA board after Troy lost to ACU a while back...

A 'couple'?

They *might* be able to beat FIU. Who else?

Really? You know that team that beat you last week? Well, last night we gave that same team a good old fashion spanking. Sent them home crying 42-24. And we were only 10 point favorites.

By the way we've won 6 straight games from them.

No. Just, no.

Are you counting FIU's offense, defense and special teams separately?

So La-Tech (who clobbered North Texas) takes a loss to a perennially mediocre SLC team that seldom makes the FCS playoffs.

FIU lost to a freakin' MEAC team and then goes on to beat UAB by two touchdowns.

I know the vast majority of folks on the CUSA board don't know anything about the FCS landscape, so let me break it down...Northwestern State is a fairly mediocre program in a mediocre FCS league.....the MEAC is a bottom-tier league that I don't think has won an FCS playoff game since 1999. Take it from a guy who knows the FCS, Northwestern State is most likely not much better than ACU.

But yeah...ACU wouldn't have a chance against any of the other CUSA teams....the Sun Belt is the only league that can have tams outside the cellar that lose to FCS squads. 03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao
SBC has had an awful year OOC this year...there's nothing to defend at all. And la tech clobbered us too...

Point is CUSA fans brow-beat us for Troy losing to AC... then went and lost to two FCS schools.

We all suck together.

We all suck together.

As I have said before, it's definitely not a pretty picture in terms of W/L record, but in how many OOC games have we clearly underperformed? A lot of them were long shots or coin flips that we didn't get.

And if we suck, the MAC and CUSA do too. The only difference between the CUSA and SBC I see is that our cellar is probably stronger and their top team is probably better (not sure about the latter, Marshall doesn't face a P5 all year so they may not get tested unlike our teams like StAte).

Well tech is better than UL, UAB better than Troy, utep better than NMSU and southern miss better than app. Those cusa teams are not great...so I disagree, our cellar is really bad. Outside of Georgia southern and Arkansas state, the conference is meh...
We'll see when the conference games are played out how the teams finish....

my point still stands...for them to get all self-righteous about Troy losing to ACU is throwing big stones in a glass house.
No reason to stir the pot, let them CUSA people put their foot in their mouth. Then you can call them out, no need for the thread to use the transitive property.
Yall all suck
No offense

Foot in their mouth?

They have said they have been the better conference this season so far.

Do you disagree?

Did ACU beat a C-USA team?

Your cellar is stronger?

Southern Miss is our "cellar" and they've beat an SBC team.

Did ACU beat a C-USA team?

The premise is: CUSA fans insinuating a CUSA team losing to FCS schools is preposterous... then two go and do that ... then beat other CUSA teams. Bottom line is we all suck.

There is no doubt about all of us sucking.

It's about who sucks less.
ACU is 0-0 against the CUSA.

Here's the question....CUSA has two losses to FCS teams, the SBC has one...
Will those two CUSA teams both win more conference games than Troy does? Well, they have the lead so far...

There's not as much separting the CUSA and SBC as a lot of CUSA folks apparently think.
Well, CUSA doesn't really suck that much less. Hanging your hat on traditional power USM barely being able to beat one of our FCS move ups at home is... disconcerting for CUSA fans.

It took you a whole week to start this thread. Does it take a week to get news like this in Statesboro or is your internet just that sloooow.
