I was reading their fan board with a mention that their plane didn't get in finally until midnight, so I checked on their beat writer... apparently their first plane (charter) had engine trouble.

So they are well rested....

EDIT: Sorry. It looks like this was already pointed out by BandGrad in the other thread.
Just room for excuses if they lose
That fire at the Chicago flight control center yesterday apparently delayed and cancelled flights everywhere.

What are our excuses?
Hopefully we are on the same plane to WKU. Magic in the air

Personally, I don't thin k these guys were ready. We faced the number #1 defense in our conference. Maybe our guys got a big head from the 2 wins and the MSU game and underestimated our opponent. Reality check. Now its time to learn and move on.
Can't change the past, just work toward the future.

If that's true, it isn't saying a lot for our conference.

Pitt gained 422 yards and scored 41 points against FIU...

Today Pitt only managed to score 10 points against Akron, a team whose defense allowed over 500 yards of offense and 48 points to Marshall.

Crane said on air that they were one of the best defenses in the country.
I know I'm not the only one on this board who actually scouts or reviews the teams we are going to play. Thier defense vs our offense was the main talking point in news articles before the game. I guess some folks saw FIU and stopped right there.

I'm aware of the talking points. I'm also aware of the number of NFL prospects the FIU defense has.

That doesn't throw out the actual head-to-head comparisons that I alluded to. IMO, FIU's defensive numbers were just as inflated as our offensive numbers.
