Thursday on ESPNU:
Appalachian State @ Georgia Southern
-absolutely incredible what a fast start the Eagles have had in their 14 season. It was one thing to nearly knock off both NC State and Georgia Tech but to dominate south al at home was shocking.
-the mountaineers have stumbled of the gate and can't help but think they're going to still be feeling demoralized from the 1 point lost to southern miss. Southern will be jacked up at home and on national tv. 34-20 GATA

Saturday:
Troy @ ULM
-Obviously the game we'll be keeping an eye on. The Warhawks opened up as 10.5 point favorites against the weary trojans. I know you never should count out a sunbelt team against another but this is a pitiful looking troy squad that has never played well in Monroe. i say ulm dominate 35-17.

South Alabama @ Idaho
-Idaho has been playing much more competitively, despite not having any wins to show for it. The Jaguars had an impressive win at Kent state, then have looked abysmal against Mississippi state and Georgia southern (only scoring 9 points in those last 2 games). Both teams are already in desperation mode as whoever loses this one will be 0-2 in conference play. Though I feel the Jaguars have better talent, I give the vandals the edge - they're at home and will play with more
urgency. 28-27 idaho.

Texas State@ Tulsa
-The bobcats have a old Steve roberts feel to them; they've been competitive but haven't been able to finish, losing to Navy by 14 and Illinois by 7. Despite their 1-2 record they're a solid squad and I feel they've got a great chance to get their second win against Tulsa. The golden hurricane haven't looked great, barely beating tulane, getting smoked by oklahoma and an embarrassing lost to FAU. Watch for Texas state to shine this Saturday. 42-21 TX state

New mexico state@ LSU
-aggies lose Heartbreaker to their rivals the loos last week and the team is reeling as they prepare for their trip to baton Rouge to take on a very angry tiger squad. Good news. .I feel that the Aggies can get more offensive yards than ulm did! Bad news...aggies still get turned into tiger bait.
59-13 LSU
You are right....about Troy.....see other thread .....one thing could take all bets off the table.....a wounded and inspired animal is a dangerous thing.....If coach does nothing before game....38-17 sounds about right

I'm glad we are not playing Tory every time we catch them when they are down we could be 1-3 or 4-0 they would play their buts off. Not saying they will win but expect some life out of them.
I think you are right about the Vandals this week. However, I must point out that it will be only our 2nd win in the last 22 games. But hey, the law of averages is bound to put one in the win column at some point, right?

In all seriousness, if our defense had improved as much as our offense has this year, we would be a SBC team to be reckoned with this year. But, as we all know, the Vandal defense currently can't even stop my high school's offense from 26 years ago. So, we will have to out-score teams in order to win any games. This week at home it just might happen, barely...

04-cheers
