hopefully good time will be had by all Tiger fans
I hope we can handle their speed and contain the QB. Otherwise......
One interesting side note to the game today is game prep by Fuente. This is the first game since he's been coach where the fanbase really thinks we have a good team...UCLA was a nice surprise but people didn't think we were very good going into it. If we lose by 21+, you will hear the "same ol Tigers" talk.

To me, this game is the biggest thus far for the coach's perception and casual fan following. Not saying we have to win, but if it gets outside 14 points or so it'd be bad news for the program

There is no way a loss at Mississippi is "bad" for this program. Even by 20+. Mississippi, due to historical circumstances we can't do anything about now, signed up with the "right" conference decades and decades and decades ago. They have all the money in the world to spend on their program and, sadly, we don't.

I say we go down there and play hard and have fun. Our season starts after this game is over.

Some are saying this is the best team Mississippi has ever had and I say they still don't make it to Atlanta. Never has a program done so little with so much, even Mississippi State has made it to Atlanta. And you never know, if they don't break another one of our quarterbacks legs, we could pull it off tonight?!?!
and then there was this on national tv Gameday:

@coachingsearch 31s
Fowler: Ole Miss you need to win or else GameDay is going to Starkville next week. "You're a 20 point favorite. Win or never call again."

If we play our tails off tonight and give them a hard fought game, then I think it will actually be very good for our program and perception around the country. Even if we wear down late and they pull away, something like 31-17, it will still serve as a good omen for the rest of the season.

I just don't want to see us lay an egg early, and allow them to get rolling for a lopsided win. That, in my opinion, would negate the good vibes surrounding the program and almost certainly hurt attendance the rest of the season. I hate that our casual fanbase is so fickle, but that's just the cards we've been dealt for now, until we get rolling.

I really, really think we are going to show up tonight with a chip on our shoulder and make things very interesting in Oxfart.

Use Middle as an example. They have been roughly the same team for Fuente's three years.

Year 1 - They had bigger, faster athletes. They kicked the **** out of us.

Year 2 - The physical gapped was closed. It was a pretty even game and they were lucky to beat us.

Year 3 - We had bigger, stronger, faster athletes. We kicked the **** out of them.

Mississippi is a different situation entirely but we will not be totally outclassed. They probably have more quality depth.

We are not supposed to win today so hopefully the team plays loose and let's it all hang out. It's an opportunity for us to get a season (decade) defining win. We have nothing to lose; they are expected to win. Maybe their buttholes will get tight, lol.

if we win, great! If we lose respectably, no problem. It really doesn't impact our season that much. I think we'll do well enough in this year's AAC to get to a bowl and keep season over season forward progress moving forward.

Now, the next time we play Mississippi in Memphis it could be a real, real interesting game.
Best of luck to the good guys.

Beat Mississippi.

After tonight's game, they'll be like Arkansas and not honor the return game
There is no game coverage with 600. T

Oh, they will try to hurt Lynch. The ole miss defense is nasty...they are fast and big and hit hard. BUT THEY ARE DIRTY. They will go after Lynch and try to hurt him. That is what they did to Boise. And Vandy. I don't trust them, we better protect our QB.
