Doesn't look like he is going to last long at North Carolina

I love Fedora! He has UNC headed in the direction they deserve. Hehehe
I think that ship has sailed.. Even though we've won 2 close games against teams that'd we probably would've demolished under Fedora in 2011.. I think Monken has began the right thing to get us back in shape.
Absolutely I would.
Sure, why not? USM should hire Richard Giannini and Aunt Martha back too.

Shifty, both of us can agree, once Monken gets these guys to a bowl or a great winning season, he's gone (I'd like to say it isn't so, but Monken has no ties to the area or to the team).. Same with Fedora.. He comes back, and gets a winning season, he'll be gone before we let the confetti clear.

Personally, I'd take the guy that wants to be here.

WKU has a list of men's bball coaches that learned that lesson the hard way.

Well, by that definition, no one really "wants to be here." All I'm saying is that if Monken does win and move on, we could do a whole lot worse than Fedora.
Hire whoever can improve the program. We already tried that "here for the long haul" crap and it got us 0-12. If a guy comes here and goes 14-0 and leaves in one year then more power to him as long as he doesn't leave a mess when he leaves.
I hope the coach that comes in and goes 14-0 leaves the program with some decent recruits for the next guy.

Absolutely not. The guy is why we are where we are today. Johnson just compounded the issue. He would just hit the road again as soon as he could. A resounding NO from me. Monken will bring us around given the time to do so...
WKU has always had coaches leave and most have failed at next stop....It doesn't matter to these coaches however as its all about the $$$$

Curly Hallman never had a winning season at any level.as a head coach without Brett Favre as QB. You guys are lucky he left

Agreed. The only thing that ever held back Brett Favre was Hallman....

That's true Blad. Point I was making and being echo'd by the WKU guys is the majority of coachs that leave good jobs for greener pastures end up getting fired. Bill Lewis ECU, Dan Hawkins BSU. Can't remember names but UTEP, WKU head coach in basketball. The list is long. Fedora made 800,000 a year at USM and could have stayed for a long time if he had capitalized on the 2011 season. He left for 1,500,000 at UNC and may soon find himself back as an assistant. It's not like he went to Texas or Alabama where he could win a National Championship. He may have been far better off staying at USM in the long run just like the BB coaches at WKU.
Personally, I liked Fedora. I got to speak with him at the Eagle Call-In Show and ran into him around Hattiesburg. He is a confident coach and was beginning to develop USM to new heights. With that said, I am conflicted if the question of would we hire him back. He took our team to the Hawaii Bowl when we could have played Penn State in the Heart of Dallas Bowl (I think that was the bowl title). He said he wanted the team to enjoy Hawaii. I'm not against rewarding a team for hardwork, but come on they are getting for the most part a free-ride through college. He seemed interested on in himself. On the other hand, he did do things for USM that certainly helped our program!

I think the comment made earlier, "The grass isn't always greener on the other side" holds true. He thought going to the ACC would open the door for him to explode. Does anybody know how UNC fans feel about Fedora now? Is he on the hot seat??

He needs a DC. It wasn't too long ago that USM fans were calling for his head. Then he won the conference, 12 games, and beat the crap out of a top 10 undefeated opponent.

The natives are getting very restless which is what Blad's OP was about. They're not going to tolerate massive beatdowns by ECU.
Correct me if I'm wrong.. But we never lost to ECU like that before the Ellis Johnson era did we?
