Rushing attempts per game. 2-4 are Navy, Air Force and Army. But only 55% of our total yards have come on the ground. 71% of Arkansas' total yards have come via the ground.
Interesting...up 16 from 2013. I really think that will balance out, i think it's a few things:

1. The Presby game...we weren't going to throw much, it got out of hand quickly and we ran super vanilla stuff.

2. UNLV, they couldn't stop it...we ran the same dang run play 5 straight times at one point.

3. I think we all now they've been holding back on some of the creativity to a small extent at times.

Can't say I disagree.. However if we blow out opponents like EMU WMU etc, then it's possible that it doesn't 'balance out'. Also have to keep in mind that our QB is young and that it's possible he has a bad game where it requires more of a running attack. Nothing against Hare, just don't think any QB is invincible to mistakes.
Part of that is the insane amount of plays NIU has ran the first three games. NIU is averaging 93 plays per game the first three games, that's way up from the 77 per game they averaged last year. For the record, yes part of that is the Presbyterian game (105 plays), but they also ran 97 in Vegas. Last year, they only ran 77 against Idaho and 82 against EIU.

NIU averaged 30 pass attempts per game last year compared to 47 runs. So far this year, it's 27 passes compared to 67 runs. It'll be interesting to see how those numbers look at the end of the year.
That's inflated for the beginning of the season.

They kicked the crap out if Presbyterian so they ran the ball to keep clock churning. Then UNLV couldn't stop the run.

I bet they pass at least 30 times this game and rush around 45-50. I don't know how many plays will be run but I'd bet 80-90. Really depends on how slow the Arkansas drives are.

NIU will certainly be in top 10 in attempts by years end though. They're good at it and they should have a lot of leads.

But guys, remember Toledo has a better rushing attack. All because Kareem hunt has a better ypc.

I dont disagree but the second half had a running clock...so even if we had an incomplete pass or ran out of bounds the clock kept on ticking.

How does that work?

How does that work?

Both coaches agreed to it because of the score and maybe even the weather. Its basically the slaughter rule for football just not automatic.

I didn't notice the running clock. I was watching on espn3 and I thought they were stopping the clock which seemed odd. I guess I'm wrong though.

But the philosophy in general for that instance and other games moving forward will definitely have NIU towards the top in attempts and yards.

The Toledo comment was a joke because boca rocket thinks Toledo is best at everything and he said ypc is the only thing that matters for best rushing attack.
They have a running clock in Ohio HS football when the score gets lopsided. I did not realize that you could have one in college but it does make sense.
