To be realistic, until you reach the NFL or NBA, every job
is a stepping stone (stepping up or stepping down).
Rumor has it, if Tressell wins the national championship,
he's going to the Browns (does that make Ohio State
a stepping stone. When Spurrier went to the Red Skins,
does that make Florida a setting stone.
Also, the salary should be based on the coach's tenure
and position. I don't think UC should pay someone
with no BCS experience the same as an experienced
BCS Coach. But, if that coach is successful, then his
salary needs to be adjusted accordingly.
