The latest from the NWS -

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

.....

The slow moving cold front is expected to push south of the metro tonight. Less humid air will filter in from the north. Instead of dew point temperatures around 70, they should be in the lower and mid 60s. Less humidity and a high temperature of 83 sounds fantastic after the hot and humid Troy game.

The forecast is all contingent upon the front being south of Birmingham by Saturday morning, which is what the models show.
that would be great, particularly since the heat from the Miss St game really wore us fans down ( and probably the players even more ).
Latest computer guidance has bumped rain chances back up to 30-40% on Saturday. Slightly less humid air and cooler temperatures (80-85) still expected.
I can't remember, anyone else recall when on these 2:30 games the shade kicks in from the press box? Debating the sun screen.

Troy, of course, wasn't even a question.
Pack it. Like life insurance and a handgun. Better to have it and not need it than the other way around.

Smaug, I think you learned about sunscreen from the Troy game....

Worth it. Wear that mess even if it's pouring rain. I'm STILL recovering from the mother of sunburns at the Troy game. I'll not make that mistake ever again. Dang tempted to wear it at night games too.
Here is the latest, and last, forecast from the NWS for this afternoon's game.

Today: Isolated showers before 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 81. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

......

Computer guidance suggests there is still a slight chance of a shower in the afternoon.

The cold front has indeed pushed south of Birmingham, and is now near Clanton. A north wind today will drive slightly cooler and drier air over Legion Field. The timing of this front was impeccable!

Go Blazers!
Yep, the shade starts coming in later in the game.

Thanks. Couldn't quite recall the timing. Guess I'll drag it out again, though I hate being all greased-up.

It does beat the alternative though, truly!
It is going to be great weather for the game.

40 min before kickoff, the "shade line" is at row 52 and ever so slowly descending.
Weather was awesome today! Perfect, fall weather. The crowd was great too... I still think attendance was more than announced.
