Guess the Big 10 wanted to try and make sure they have enough bowl teams. 03-lmfao

what is funny is Penn St likely is favored in every game from now until last game of the year I think. Maybe not at Michigan but that would be the only one.
They still have to pay a $60M fine (which now gets to stay in PA) and will have several lawsuits from victims. It's not a vindication of anything, other than maybe the NCAA overstepped their bounds a little.

you forgot the most important thing to a lot of Penn St fans... the vacating of over 100 of Paterno's wins. Some(Most?) fans would probably say keep the bowl ban and let Paterno have his wins back.
am I right now that Idaho is the only FBS team not able to go bowling this year?

Taking those wins out of the record book is the most appropriate sanction and that should never be changed.

Coincidence that all other B1G East contenders have a loss?
I smell a rat!

Honestly, this is OK with me. PSU has paid enough.

Did UNLV get their eligibility restored?
Uh oh...now the Nitts have something to play for. Razor-thin depth and a terrible O-line, but they've got something to run with.

I wonder if the pollsters/committee still stiff them. Even as an alum, I think they should.

I thought i saw they did.....
Frankly, I think that the NCAA's statement that Penn State had made significant progress in reestablishing their integrity is the height of arrogance. Could they be less self-aware?

Yes they did. http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2014/jun...an-lifted/

So yeah, Idaho is the only one on a ban right now, and they don't look like a team destined for eligibility anyway.

Part of them now is their SOS is pretty weak. They're one of 11 P5 teams not to play another p5 team OOC this year. Probably due to the sanctions and the schollie reductions...
Just sneaking this release in while everyone is all over the Ray Rice video
This would never happen for a G5 team!

Big Ten announces that Penn St is now eligible for the conference title game but its fine = to share of Big Ten bowl revenue still in place.

So basically they don't get any bowl money. Again, hit the pocketbook, but not the team.

It's a vindication of those that believe the NCAA has no business in overseeing or enforcing issues of institutional control.

Those are still vacated:

The $60 million fine and vacation of wins from 1998-2011 will remain in effect for Penn State, according to the Big Ten.
Still a load of crap. They should have been given the death penalty as there was an obvious loss of institutional control in Happy Valley.
