Yep! I have the same feeling now, as I did then.

And Claudia Barr looks the same...
My family had left a church function and were having lunch at Pizza Inn on Shelby Drive. The game was on the big screen TV (ABC, I think). I remember my dad saying, "If they're going to play like this, we may go to some games this year!"

RIP Dad. Good memory.
I was going to school at Pellissippi State Technical Community College in Knoxville,TN then.
I had had a tooth pulled that day...and watched the game on ESPN.
Good memories.
For those of us that have work internet Nazi's that disallow videos what is this about?

great memory for sure

ML - Memphis beating USC out in CA
I still have that on VHS. X man fumbled on the 5 yard line and they recovered but the refs let us keep the ball and we scored.

Bigger item was the penalty on their kick off return for a TD.
What I remember was being excited after the USC win and going the next week at home against Ole Miss and getting blanked 10-0. It was a rough night because we lost and my wife was sick throwing up leaving the stadium at the half. Memories...04-cheers
The fans were not staring. At their IPads...they were actually living and enjoying.

Ahhh
the days.
Old George and Wolo came on their radio show the next afternoon (back then) giggling about what could we talk about today? It was a great memory.

Then the Tigers went out and lost to Ole Miss 10-0 the next Saturday in a lackluster effort...very disappointing after the USC win. Greg Roberts told George that Friday the Tigers would win...think George bet 2 steaks on that one...Greg said those California guys would still be thinking about the beach, etc., and not the game. Hard to believe it was 23 years ago.
