id like to apologize but I just cant pull for Louisville and bobby petrino. I tried I really really tried but I just cant. I know he deserves our support for what he did but I just cant
Petrino is simply motivated by what is financially profitable. That's why he didn't stick around at Western Kentucky.

My point is, Petrino and guys like him really don't focus on the W/L record. College football for programs in BCS conferences is simply a gigantic cash grab. Why do you think Louisville played so often for so many years on Wednesday and Friday nights? Exposure and the opportunity to move up in the pecking order.

Bowls and wins are just a byproduct of greed.
Did XCGM shave the stache?
Thank you Bob. Thank you. Thank you for taking away our worst coach in history, so we could get our best. 04-bow
Praise da lort for good ole bob

Hear hear! 04-cheers

That said, I'm still pulling for the U. My disdain for the 'ville precedes Bobby P and the Stache.
The results doesn't seem to correlate with who we pull for.

Louisville 31 Miami 13

McGee isn't Head Coach material plain and simple or at least not yet. He is back under Petrino and Petrino can veto the dumb play calls he got to make while coaching for UAB.
I suspect McGee will be a head coach again.

Maybe but it isn't going to be any time soon though. He has much to learn, but I don't think he will learn what it takes from Petrino though.

The more Bill Clark is successful, the longer it will take McGee to get another head coaching job.

Yep, each win by Coach Clark will make future AD's who interview McGee more and more skeptical. Especially when he talks about his "philosophy" that never took root in order to turn the team around.

Like Petrino McGee is a narcissist. He can never blame himself. He blamed us, the fans, the team, and the athletics department after his departure because we didn't embrace his "winning philosophy."
And he'll probably claim Clark won with his players. 05-stirthepot

I think the FASTER Clark is successful, the less likely he'll be a head coach.

Suddenly that gig everybody agreed was a loser isn't a loser.

Must've been the last coach.

Let's explore that. Here are some of our star players and who brought them here:

Backman: Callaway
Clements: McGee
Howard: McGee
DJ Vinson: Callaway
JJ Nelson: Callaway
Staples: McGee
Ganus: Callaway
Ty Long: Callaway
Hunter Mullins: Callaway
Diaheem Watkins: Callaway
Chris Walton: Callaway
Victor Salako: McGee

There are more guys that are "stars" but I think this gives the picture. As you would expect, UAB's main players are a mix of Callaway and McGee recruits.

He can claim whatever he wants, but the reality is that he was a failure here. He knows it, and so does everyone.
Damn.

And 3 of the 6 leading tacklers were Clark recruits: James Banks, Harris Gaston and Kalen Jackson.

Out of those 12 players, only 4 are McGee recruits (33%). He was a snakeoil sales man and he couldn't deliver on the talk. But he was next to Petrino last night locked at the hip. When Clark finishes strong this year, McGee is gonna look like an imbecile.
