7 assistants have left UC to go join Coach Dantonio in East Lansing. UC really needs to fill this position really quickly so they can keep the recruits that they already have.
I feel really bad for the current players because they had a good season and all that will be remembered is the Coaching situation.

I hope we get a coach in place next week so we can get this guys out of town permanently. Other than Narduzzi, I was not all that impressed with these guys anyway. And I agree, I think its sad that these players are being treated so poorly by Dantonio and his assistants. Get them out of town as soon as possible.

Lets pray to god that they get the International bowl. If so there will be plenty of time for the new staff to come in and coach the bowl game as there are 50 days between now and then.
That said Mike Thomas needs to hire someone and do it quickly.
When does it get to the point that you consider turning down the bowl bid due to the situation? I know this would only penalize the kids ..especially the 12 Seniors, but to rushed into the most important decision we've faced in a long time......simply because we have to play Western Michigan in Toronto?? If these 7 assistants have resigned effective today....and have broken their contracts.....how does Narduzzi to this by himself? We need to get the BEST coach we can....not worry about beating Western Michigan. Narduzzi seems to be a man of true character.

One word.... MONEY, UC needs the money it will receive from going to a bowl game.
It is also free exposure for the program and UC needs as much exposure as they can get. Bowl games help in recruiting and right now UC needs as much exposure as it can get.
BCL tradionally has been a Hoops site but as some of you may have noticed over the past few weeks we are covering football more and more. We will now be focused on both hoops and football because I feel that UC is a sleeping giant in FB if the administration hires the right coach.

and then we will rise to the top of the College football world. Everyone will love us. We will fill Nippert everyweek and eventually build a stadium that holds 100k and gets soldout.
UC needs to play in this bowl game. The players deserve it. I'm sure the players will respond. If next Wednesday is the drop date for naming a coach, or so Narduzzi says, then that will give UC plenty of time to get a staff in here. The International Bowl is not played until Jauary 6th, so we have plenty of time.
It still upsets me to that UC assistants, who are still contractually bound to UC, can just jet up to East Lancing for the day, and leave our student-athletes high and dry. I want this trash out of Cincinnati as soon as possible.

I don't understand. Are you saying they have quit and now work full-time for MSU? Or are they working full-time for UC until the bowl game and/or a new coach is hired - at which point they've committed to MSU? Or is it something in between?

I don't understand. Are you saying they have quit and now work full-time for MSU? Or are they working full-time for UC until the bowl game and/or a new coach is hired - at which point they've committed to MSU? Or is it something in between?
They have resigned and are now working for MSU and are already recruiting and are no longer working for UC.
I think they are still contractually bound to UC until after the bowl. I think that 7 assistants are going to MSU with Dumbtonio after our bowl. Hopefully, we can put this trash on the curb sooner than that. But if these coaches have left already, I would sue their collective butts.

From what I understand they have resigned and UC has granted permission for them to leave and start working at MSU ASAP.
This is standard proceedure with these types of situations.

Thanks uctodd. That's absolutely astounding to me. So does that mean literally the current UC coaching staff is Narduzzi or does he have anyone else? So I guess this even rules out any of the assistants staying with Narduzzi if he gets the job, right? Did I mention I am astounded at this BS?

Funny you say this. I actually thought how cool it would be if the team stepped up and coached themselves in the bowl. It would almost overshadow the bloody game in Glendale. I realize it's total stretch and might not be possible, but I see so many possibilities for salvaging our dignity, slapping Dantonio in the face, and tattooing a damn tough identity on UC football.

im already brewing ideas for signs to bring to football games next year....assuming everything smoothes out...
I think this shows the character of Mark Dantonio, to quit on those kids like that.
