You never know in this situations, but it actually sounds like these guys may have been innocent.
hmmm. Sounds a bit questionable to me as well....oh well. What's done is done.

Unfortunate situation though.
Sounds like he said/she said. The bottom line is don't put yourself in sketchy situations because you can lose everything.

Well, you never know what is a sketchy or not a sketchy situation. Im guessing a large part of the football team (and campus males) have met girls out and brought them back to their dorm/apartment.
Lots of questions: These girls met the guys at the oceanfront, traveled from there to Hampton, then back across the bridge-tunnel to Norfolk to their dorms -- and didn't think "sex" was going to happen? And they'd been drinking at the oceanfront and in the dorms? And playing a sexually explicit drinking game? Then there's a video of one of the girls hugging Evans as she's leaving the dorm? Man, very very fishy.

These guys did 2 years in jail waiting for this case to come up? For a misdemeanor? Lost their education (not so concerned with their football; college was as far as they were going to go). I can only imagine what they learned in jail.

I'm no attorney, but off of the story in the Pilot, these guys got hosed.

Did not know there was such a thing as a"FULMER CUP" until it was mentioned in an article including ODU. seems everything is tracked now days.
Henderson really contributed to our Fulmer Cup performance

found this link after my other post....
OT again-do you guys use reddit/cfb? I love it but am relatively new and still learning the intricacies. For example, it seems like a great community to grow ODU but they will not tolerate even the hint of someone spamming.

Well, you can probably assume it's sketchy if the ladies are so drunk they can barely speak.

At that point you should probably not seek to have carnal relations with them. Not because they didn't want to, be because THEY MAY NOT REMEMBER, and then you are ^&^$%.

Article didn't say they couldn't speak, but that they did not say no. The girls are the ones that claimed they were dizzy and "couldn't move." Yet, they were able to walk to the bathroom and tell a guy no (which the guy stopped) The same or another victim was able to walk out with Evans and give him a hug. No of them had date rape drugs.

I understand where you are coming from, but come on; getting drunk and having sex is what happens in college :)

If they guys really did commit rape, then I wish they were punished worse, but I do not get that feeling just from reading the story. The girls weren't drugged and they never said no. They were even playing sex games with the guys.

It sounds like a night of regret from the girls.

I check it out every once in a while but nowhere near the amount that I check this board, the cusa board or your site. There is a r/cusa but it is practically dead and an r/ODU but it is everything ODU not just sports.

I actually was not aware of it, but now that you have brought it to my attention, I may have to check it out.
How did selling drugs earn a guy more points than murder and attempted murder???

Yes. Exactly.

Drinking and playing those type of games with young women who probably can't handle their alcohol is going to lead to a bunch of regret from those women. You have to be careful because it's extremely hard to win that from the guy's POV.

That is why even though they said they were innocent they took the Alford Plea, got suspended sentences and are not going to be on the sex offender registry.
Yep.

Even if they did NOTHING wrong, look what happened. That's all I'm saying. That situation lends itself to issues and regrets and recriminations.

Yeah basically, don't put yourself in a situation for stuff like that to happen. I'm a college student. I know what college students do, but I don't put myself in a situation when I know that something could go wrong. So many kids don't think at all.
