It's been an awfully quiet camp so far. I guess I'll stick with no news is good news right? It just seems like there has been more practice and camp chatter on the boards in previous years. Are practices closed or have we lost our helpful retirees who have been able to sneak over to catch a glimpse of practice?

I guess to sum it up, it seems like the team is relatively ok health wise (except Norrils) and we're deep and strong on the lines and linebacker. We have some skill positions covered and some untested young kids at receiver. We have a starting TB, and we have a freshman who is making some noise as our #2. But we are still deep at the running back position.

Our QB position is still up in the air, but we have three viable candidates. Some day we'll have a clear cut #1 again.

We have the best kicker in the MAC, but did we find a punter?

The blade has done a consistent job of getting us info this year with regular stories, but I'm like most in that it's not enough. I want 24/7 rocket coverage.

Something I read earlier said that Detmer can punt as well if needed.
Word is Nick Ellis will likely take over punting duties. While Detmer can punt in a pinch if needed, his strength lies in putting it through the uprights. There was also another player taking a couple punting snaps during the practice on Parent's Picnic day but can't remember his number?
Doesn't Julian also punt?
Julian punted very well in spring game!!
You would think we could at least have seen a depth chart by now (8/24).

Ought to be naming a starting QB any minute now I should think.
Looking at highlights freshman Cody Thompson punted for his his school team.
Dont know if they looked at him to punt though, averaged 44.6 yards a punt in high school.
News paper article said he punted 6 time in one game averaging 49 yards a punt.

IMHO, it is unlikely we will win a MACC without someone distinguishing himself as clearly better than the rest at the qb position. I hope we have a starter soon.

Matt Campbell said Toledo does know its return man. So. WR Corey Jones will have the honors. Kid can run. Saw him break a few in camp.
Boy, I was sitting on the edge of my seat for that bit of breaking news. Now how about QB?
All I know is what I read. All three will get reps against NH.
It's official. Phillip Ely is the starter!

I doubt it. Unless Eli plays very very poor or it's a blow out and he rests Eli.

Why yes.... we did. 04-rock

Picking it up Wednesday evening. You know where it will be parked...
Ranger what kind of amenities are in the back of it? Looks like you can go on the roof too? Something tells me that thing has a hitch for a freedom grill?

It is pretty Spartan compared to a "normal" RV in terms of what I'll call "foo foo" amenities.

Very German, i.e., "well built and engineered".

Does have a trailer hitch on the back. The Freedom Grill isn't manufactured anymore. I finally just let Dean (the guy that picked up the one you kindly stored for me for so long) have that one since I never could seem to make it down to Florida to pick it up.

Hadn't thought about another trailer hitch grill for the Unicat.

Chris and I are trying to scale back our tailgates after 8 years with the Jambulance. Certainly not going to invite the entire Lot 10 inside the Unicat to stay warm or use the facilities.

We'll have to see how tailgating goes, and how much we decide to "Rocket" it up.

Much better for road trips in terms of a place to eat, sleep, shower, etc. than the Jambulance. Hoping to take it down to the Cincy game and try out all of those systems.
