What are our guy's numbers for the Panthers?? Will they both play tonight vs KC??

Just saw Darrin on the sidelines not dressed. Injury?

Thanks for the update. Guess I will just have to be satisfied to watch ole Joe if he gets into the fray tonight.

Is joe battling for the backup qb spot or is he already signed to a contract??

Joe is trying to get the 3rd QB position (at least).

I think they will keep 3 QB's.

Under contract probably wouldn't mean that much.

I think that he still has to make the team.

When he signed during the off season with them it was mainly because he could do some of the same type things that Newton could do.

I do believe he has a very good shot to at least be the 3rd QB & make the team.

Their first and second string QBs are set in stone. Newton and Anderson are 1 & 2 baring injury. Webb is battling to be the 3rd string QB, and Carolina hasn't kept 3 QBs on the roster since they changed the rules to make the 3rd QB count against the 53 man limit.

Joe gets mop up duty, plays well, but nothing spectacular since they were mainly running. Had 1 deep ball dropped and got sacked ( line broke down on him ). He may get another shot tonight depending on whether KC gives up the ball with some time left on the clock.

A victim of another dropped ball. That would have been a big play.

Is it possible they keep joe as another WR or "athlete" without a specified position to keep him as a "hidden" 3rd qb? I really hope he makes the team..

At this point it looks bad for both

It looks bad for DR. He will be gone the first round of cuts. The injury sealed his fate IMHO.
They talked about the quarterbacks the other day. They said if they don't keep Joe they will most likely only go with two QBs. They really like his versatility and if they keep Joe they will go with three QBs and try and utilize him in other ways.

I think he has a descent shot at making the roster. If they release him I think he gets picked up. DR on the other hand better get used to the cold weather if he wants to keep playing and learn the words to "Oh Canada"

If they liked DR, they could put him on IR. He gets to workout and be with the team for a year, gets paid to do it, and wont cost the team much money, wont take up a precious roster spot, and basically be an understudy for a year.

That would be great. I think they do like him.

Yep. Running backs are a dime a dozen in this league. There are 30 other guys similar to DR who are healthy and can be picked up as cuts are made around the league. Terrible time to get injured.

Sucks Reaves got hurt. Also, the Panthers may be the hardest team to make the roster at RB in the NFL. Already have 3 very solid RBs in Williams, Stewart, and Tolbert that are definitely on the team. Then, he's fighting with Kenjon Barner and Fozzy Whittaker for the 4th RB spot, and that's IF the panthers keep a 4th RB.

Joe has a chance I think. It all depends if they want 2 or 3 QBs. Joe is definitely better than that Blanchard guy.
