6 plays, 69 yards, UConn 7-0.
Brown is just running all over them right now.
First third and long, and Grutza takes off running. Now he is caught from behind and loses two.
TV trying to hide it, but very empty in the middle lower seats, in the best seats in the house.
Thank goodness the passing game isn't working for UConn right now. They are wide open and dropping TD passes.
Grutza underthrows a sure TD. Next play, he throws an INT. Grutza hurt. Davila warming up.
If Davila was in the game in the first place we'd probably be 14-7 right now. Hopefully, Nick can save the day.
GO DAVILA!!

RESCUE US
The offense was thrown completely out of sync by starting Grutza, which was stupid. Grutza was completely out of groove and clearly still banged up. It's going to take a couple of more offensive possession for Davila to get into a groove, so hopefully the defense can hold serve for awhile.
so how are we actually looking?
all i can see is yahoo/espn gametrackers, no actual video feed.
the score obviosuly isnt pretty, but does it simply look like a few things to fix before we get rolling?
I questioned Coach D starting Grutza....

questioning was correct......bad call to start him over Davila IMO

A Connecticut fan was just on the Big East board ripping UC's attendance and raving about how great UConn's attendance would be today. Oops!
We have the ball 1st and 10 on our own 8. Benton ahead for 9 yards. 1:02 left in half. We run up the freaking middle.

It's just a matter of Davila getting into a flow. The defense was shaky early but has settled down. The running game has been stagnant because Grutza's presence meant that UConn could stack the box without a threat of a passing attack. Grutza either ran himself or UC kept calling running plays, as a result UC wasn't stretching the field at all. It was a mistake to take the hot hand out, especially when that hot hand gave you a different dimension that you lacked.
Don't want to do something stupid with so little time left in the half and on our own side of the field.....10-3 at half isn't bad....17-3 at half is trouble...
:55 left in half. UConn takes time out. UC is not moving the ball very well, but after the first series, UConn isn't either. Davila back in shotgun. Passes to Alli for 1st down.out to 23. UConn offsides. :44 left.
Davila passes down middle to Celek at mid field. TO UC. :35 left.
With Davila we stretch the field and which also helps our running back corps....why would you NOT start him??????

Come on coach D!

If we end up losing this one, we are going to go back to the 7 pt. head start we gave UCONN
How many time outs does UC have left now?
Davila completion to Stewart down to 38 yard line. Game clock to :28.
