The Vols pay UAB $925,000 in 2015 for a Sept. 5 neutral-site meeting at LP Field in Nashville.... Per the contract, Tennessee is designated as the home team in Nashville against UAB and the contest is considered a home game for the Vols.
Let me guess - UT ISNT coming to Legion in 2016, right?

Cowards.
Are they scheduled to come to Legion Field in 2016?
A return game has never been a part of the deal that I know of.
I imagine the Vols will come to B'ham before Bama plays a return game in Hattiesburg.

The size of these types of payouts indicates how much revenue the SEC teams derive from these home games when mixed in with their season ticket packages (premium + skybox + ticket price). Bama recently paid out $1.2 million to Kent State and $1.5 million to Colorado State - that's almost $3 million to just two visiting teams.
No it's a one shot deal. There was never a return game. It's a great payday and there won't be 100K in attendance. If Clark progresses this program it could be an interesting game.

That said, BEAT TROY!

That would make the $925k awkward.

We're not giving A&M a return game.

With the new autonomy from the "Power 5," I would bet we never see an SEC team in Legion Field again... at least not against UAB.

And the loser on that deal was Southern Miss.

Miss St has been willing to come in the past but until we put a better product out there, they may be the last for some time. I don't think it's totally out of the cards in the future for the lower end $EC teams to come if we're a better team than we have been. You're right in that the elite $EC teams won't come
Both Mississippi State and Ole Piss bought their way out of return games to Legion Field against UAB. I think that sums it up right there.

About the only shot we have is against Vandy and I doubt they world consider even a two for one. The days of P5 teams going to G5 teams will be nearly coming to an end. Maybe we get lucky with an Indiana or someone like that or maybe even a two for one with Miami. They seem willing to play G5 folks on the road.

Maybe if we become a top 25 team one day we can attract some descent H&Hs?
Mississippi State might still be game. They bought out mainly to free themselves up to play in the Dallas Palace against Oklahoma State. At least that was my understanding. They went to Troy next year, and they go to Memphis a lot. They might come back.
If we improve our program............... Which I think is happening before our eyes...................

They're going to Mobile this season...
Oh yeah Mississippi State is definitely game.
More P5 schools are playing OOC games in neutral locations. I think our best bet is to get these types of games (semi-neutral), as we aren't going to get them at home. The ideal schedule would consist of one of these games, an FCS school, and two games vs decent G5 regional competition.
