Houston area restaurants once again join together to raise funds for the Houston Food Bank, August 1st through September 1st. The venerable Frankie B Mandola has enrolled Damian’s Cucina Italiana in this effort by creating a Pre Fixe three course dinner menu to be enjoyed during the celebration for $ 35.00. Five dollars of the cost of each dinner is donated to the Houston Food Bank by participating eateries.

Kirkwood Johnston and Frankie B thought this might be a great time to gather Parliamentarians and all those with Rice affiliations for an evening of great food, drink and conversation in the celebrated atmosphere of one of Houston’s legendary Italian restaurants.

Frankie has reserved the private, upstairs dining room for the event. If attendance is slim, Frankie, Kirkwood and I will sit at the bar and swap lies, tales of daring-do and other stories best not told in polite company while enjoying adult beverages.

Damian’s has generously offered to provide complimentary hors d’oeuvres during cocktail service. I must make note The Parliament chose to decline my request to cover all expenditures. Bar tabs and meal costs are the responsibility of attendees.

Damian’s menu can accommodate those requiring vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals. If any of these options are needed, please make mention during the reservation process but Houston Restaurant Weeks meals may not be available for these dietary categories.

In all honesty, it was Kirk's idea. I just mentioned I wanted to eat dinner at Damian's during HRW. He expanded it from there. Should be a great time .

We're getting more "wish I could be there" messages than "I'll be there". Looks like Frankie's gonna have to stock the bar deep for Kirk, himself and me on the 21st.

You can't get this quality of Italian food for $35 bucks anywhere in town. If nothing else, go for the cuisine.
