one word = Awesome
Check out the size of that board! OMG! And to have the other one, which is only a couple years old, moved to the other side of the stadium is awesome. Not everyone knows this but the current board is a two sided video board & will point toward the residence halls and broadcast news and videos about UT sports during the day when students are walking by. It does that now but faced the side of campus. I have a feeling the newly renovated and expanded Larimer facility made it hard to see the backside of the board anyhow so this move makes a lot of sense. Great job atheletic department!
Very nice. The current board is HD, so it's still very up-to-date.

I believe the new board will be the same size as the old one, except it will be 100% video without the ads on the side and scoreboard below.

Yes!! What exciting news for us Rockets fans and the players.

We're the only MAC school to have two video boards in their stadium. This just makes me even more pumped for the season. Well done UT Athletic Department and anyone who helped fund this project!
I cant wait to hear the new sound system!
They'll have a lot of flexibility with the display and be able to do some amazing effects. Somebody's going to have a lot of fun. Also a lot they can do with advertising having 2 boards.
Give the old one to EMU for Christmas!

jk
Congratulations.

Have they addressed the "issues" with the visitor side yet?

There are certainly issues with the visitor side, just curious as to what issues you are referring to.

Probably restrooms and concession areas that do need work. If I were RWT I would be more concerned about concrete falling from BG's stadium instead of wasting his time on a UT board.

Really dude? You got something more topical...perhaps the STD issue or our tree. 03-yawn

Sorry...the issues are sore spots with quite a few posters on here. I was merely asking the question.
From the Blah's new UT beat reporter.

That isn't bad, really. I believe the original board was a million and it wasn't hi def.

I have a good feeling that other Glass Bowl updates will be done as time and money allow. Mike O'Brien and team are on a roll right now with the wind behind their backs after many years of hard work!
I propose moving the east bleachers to the end zone are to get it out of TV site. Look really bad on TV

That can then start the discussion about what to do to finish the other side of the stadium

Right now our athletic department is doing all they can to get our facilities in the best shape possible and the track record speaks for itself, they are doing a great job. Lets give them another 12 to 24 months and see what they have on tap next. It seems to me the next logical moves are more Glass Bowl improvements and possibly something with Scott Park facilities for softball, baseball and soccer. Maybe we get those moved to the main campus after the old dorms are torn down? Based on adding a new video board and sound system it seems like they are now concentrating on the Glass Bowl. Everyone else seems to be updated and renovated.
Anyone know what they're building on campus by the Bancroft bookstore? It's where those old dorms used to be, something is being built as we speak. Also, how about that corner on Douglas and Dorr? Something is being built there and I'm not sure what it is. And I just want to say that Douglas now looks MUCH, MUCH better with the repaving of the roads. Now they need to fix Bancroft!

Privately built dorms near bookstore. Private apartments/student housing at Douglas & Dorr.

Thanks. Cool to see so much happening at the Toledo campus. Can't wait to see it all finished.
