The Fancy Farm Picnic is a major political Kentucky every year. It's every year about 30 miles from where I grew up.
I don't know if you'll find any event in America where a state governor has the ability to stand 10 feet away from a sitting US senator while saying and acting like this guy.

I actually watched a part of this the other day while flippingn through the TV stations. It caught my attention because I saw some guy up there praising Grimes and ripping on McConnell and he was getting heckled by the crowd (a lot of McConnell followers were there). It was actually quite a breath of fresh air from the usual forums where the crowds are told to remain silent and to save the applause for afterwards.

I think you forget how ugly things got between the two camps.
The only thing conservatives said about Moochie was that stupid comment she said about being proud for the first time in her life about being American. And that was stupid of her.
Our state has turned Republican over the last 25 years or so because of the huge corruption the Democrat party has a legacy with for over a hundred years. Democrat leaders are responsible for Kentucky's lacking in education for decades. They preached Tobacco as the cash cow for decades encouraging youth to stay home and help with the crops and miss school. Later on these kids dropped out of School and left for cities to work in factories in unions. They would also pressure companies into letting them off from work to get the crops out.If it couldn't be arranged They would find something to go out on wildcat strikes to get the crops finished.This went on for decades with the blessings of Democrat leaders whom controlled corporate purse strings. The Democrats controlled everything that moved in the state financially and politically before Mitch came along. Now Republicans control the state Senate and 2 US Senators and US House Representation. Things have become far more stable but the shady Dems try every trick and lie to try to regain power back. Even bring in the chief Liar Himself Bill Clinton to Lie for Grimes whos own Father had a very shady Democrat past.
