Does sound like a good read. My son played in a local Little League. There were the parents who felt that they needed to go to Baseball USA, etc. to get their kids exposure. Fortunately, the core of our better players played the regular LL season with their friends and the would play a little tournament ball in the summer and fall (along with soccer, football, etc). Most ended up playing HS baseball and a few want on to college ball. What is often lost sight of is just having fun. Too many think their kid is the next DI prospect...

Here's a link to the 2008 New York Times study and story cited above: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/10/sports...d=all&_r=0 The study involved NCAA data as recent as 2003-4.
