Quote:Boston Man Charged With Rape At Keith Urban Concert

BOSTON (CBS) – A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped in front of concertgoers at a sold out show in Mansfield this weekend. Police say some fans just watched, not realizing they were witnessing what the girl says was an assault.

The attack happened the same night dozens of concertgoers were arrested or treated for alcohol poisoning during the Keith Urban show at the Xfinity Center.

We have to keep this music away from our kids and off our streets!!!!

The perp is an 18 year old named Sean Murphy, probably a Southie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Boston, who probably never listens to country music.

damn country western soccer fans
A lot of this has to do with the fact that Country has crossed over into the hip hop culture and it is starting to attracted that kind of element.

This country will be a lot better off when it starts to reject the rap and hip hop culture.
A lot of what is coming out of Nashville today is 'pop country' trash. Keith Urban being a big part of that.

I don't really listen to country anymore because the truth is it isn't country.

This. I put the station of classic country, bluegrass or southern rock to get my fix.

Today's country is targeting Justin Beiber fans.
I know very little about the country music scene. But it does feel like country music is dominated by photogenic pop stars with a just hint of country. Some of them glitzy runner-ups from American Idol, the Voice, etc.

On those rare occasions where I do step into the genre, I prefer the raw, folksier "alt country" or a more laid back Americana sound. Hem, Tarnation, Freakwater, Great Lakes Swimmers, Caitlin Cary...
There is no country music being generated any longer. It's all trash. While the newest genre of Americana retains much of what made country country in the first place I doubt that many of the older artists who fall or have been placed in this genre would categorize themselves as what has been traditionally recognized as country artists.
eh nashville produces a lot of trash, but you cant tell me that people like zac brown, eric church, kacey musgraves and dierks bentley dont produce good music. Keith urban is stupid talented and is one of the best pure musicians in nashville.

I cant stand when people take ownership of a genre and tell other people what is and isnt country. It reeks of being a music snob.

George Strait would probably agree.

ZBB may be the only exception.

Church is more Texas country.

There is a very clear line being drawn in the industry.
I don't know, the only semi-country band I listen to is Deer Tick and they are actually from Vermont. I really can't stand the rest of it, even the classic country. I fully admit though, I do listen to mostly liberal music.
