Marshall - The class of Conference USA

"Conference USA has added two new teams this season (Old Dominion and Western Ky) and lost three (Tulsa, East Carolina and Tulane) but it is really a one team league. And that team is Marshall."
Dude sure likes La Tech

Vegas, not so much. They have Tech at 40-1 odds with UTSA & Rice at 8-1.
Has WKU losing every non conference game? Maybe but I doubt it
who is missing off that list?
I wouldn't call us a one team league. I think multiple teams will have good years.

No one is missing. There are only 13 football teams in the conference this year as Charlotte is still one year away from C-USA football.
That's a ridiculous statement. Hell's fire, people are stupid. This league has a ton of solid teams. There is so much freaking pressure on our kids and coaches to go undefeated, it will almost be impossible that they don't tighten up at some point. Who'd a thunk going 11-1 or 10-2 would be considered failure?
LTU is listed anywhere from 4th to 6th in most predictions of 2014, including the one made by conference coaches. So one guy sees them as likely to win, and thinks it is a great overlay. Fine with me, I don't care if he bets the ranch on them. Personally, I would not mind putting $100 down on each of Rice (8-1), UTSA (8-1), AND UNT (15-1). I think the odds of me collecting back at least $900 for my $300 investment are pretty good.

Agree! I would imagine this article is only geared to generate hits by being sensational. CUSA will have solid teams, and there are no guarantees for any team by just showing up.

Yup. It's rather ridiculous to expect an undefeated season. Sure, on paper Marshall is favored in every game (right now), but an undefeated season? It'll be tough. Even if Marshall had a 95% chance to win every individual game, that's only a 54% chance to go 12-0.

He has us losing to Memphis, lol.
This guy must think the legue is pitiful, only has 4 teams being bowl eligible, Marshall, LaTech, UTSA and Rice[barely].

Early lines on Week 1 matchups from DonBest-Las Vegas

BG[-7]- WKU
Houston[-12.5]-UTSA
Troy pick UAB
NEB[-23.5]-FAU
Marshall[-24]-Miami, Ohio
N.D.[-24]- Rice
Okla. [-38]-LaTech
Miss.ST[-29]-USM
Tex. [-24]-UNT
New Mexico [-7]- UTEP
The prediction of Louisiana Tech winning the West is ridiculous and six teams will probably be bowl-eligible. This league is not as terrible as he thinks. There are four or five good teams on paper right now. The predicted AAC standings were printed in the Houston Chronicle today. That's a top-heavy conference as well. The top four are good and respectable. The bottom seven are bad.

We need WKU, UAB, UTEP and Marshall to take care of business in the first week. We need another school to pull off a big upset.
