I've always been rather interested in this. We occasionally get new people, Football moms, Players, or Loyal fans. I like when we get more people, as to me, it seems that if they participate on this board, then they will continue to be apart of the Huskie Family. A big part of being a fan is getting to celebrate with your friends, and I think this board really helps with that - or at least for me since I live in Kansas, now.

How I found the board:
For years I was an NIU fan, and the only way for me to get my 'fix,' was to read articles relating to the Football team, and players. That's how I stumbled upon this thread: (Nissan Heisman voting...)

What about you?
My roommate freshman year in college was a big Huskie fan and I saw him browsing the forums one day.
I found out about this forum by word of mouth.
From the old Teamates board. Maybe two dozen members?

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great question! Friends of mine from other schools mentioned getting info from forums so I dug around google and found this. Im not much of a contributor but I really appreciate some of the information you guys (and girls) post.
From the former ESPN message board

I didn't actually attend NIU (family has). Do a lot of students know about the board, or is it only a select few?
From Facebook, there was the rumor that Western Michigan was going to forfeit the game last year. I didn't believe it, I wanted a link to confirm and it brought me here.
Google search for NIU

Sent from my iPhone.

I think only a very few know about it. I found it as a student by a google search of NIU Forum.
When Jerry Kill left I was looking for rumors on the next coach and stumbled upon the Dog Pound.

Do you think that if you didn't find the board you would be less of an NIU enthusiast?
Somewhere around 2004 or 2003. Can't remember how. Probably doing some sort of on line search for an NIU article. Pre-Maryland game.

Yes, this board helps because it keeps you connected. MOst of my friends who graduated back in the day with me unfortunately did not follow NIU sports much.
Came over from the old Teamyates board.
Google search

teamyates, espn message board and huskiedan
when my son was being recruited I was googling his name and an article came up with NIU CSNbbs that is how I found the Dog Pound
Honestly I have no idea. haha

I have a vague recollection of moving over from that other board people are talking about the and the joined date checks out. *shrug*
I would LOVE to see a graph showing new members by year for NIU fans.
Perusing google for sports conspiracies for my US Sport History research paper, and surfaced upon a MaddDawgz thread.
