MyBB is working on the next major upgrade of MyBB. So now is a good time to dump your ideas here for new features and improvements.

Post away!
A blog.
1. add team flair

2. likes/dislikes per post

3. I might be stretching on this one: a monthly video of GTS dancing in a clown suit
How about a "Hot Topics" board that takes the hottest threads from all of the conference boards and the CS&CR board and lists them on one site. You would not be able to start a thread on that site, but would be able to read the posts to decide whether or not you wanted to go to that board to participate in a discussion. There would be no need for a moderator for the site because it would simply be a reading site. Any bans that apply to posters would be in effect when they travel to a board that they are banned from. All moderation would still be handled at the individual board sites.

It would permit Lurkers and visitors to check out the most active threads without having to navigate between them and would be easier than navigating the new posts feature because it would segregate the hottest threads away from the other posts.

I think such a feature would generate hits and newcomers. JR

I could probably add a Vitality page that updates once/twice a day showing top threads site wide. How does that sound?
I think a Vitality page as you describe would be cool.
1. Bring back the ability to give reputation points for specific posts. If gaming the system is a concern, have it only available to trusted users using some threshold like current reputation, posts, how long they have been on the site etc. Make it a privilege.

2. Eliminate the MySpace TV posting code and add code to post Vine videos.

3. Build an Anonymous Image Uploader so people can post personal pictures to the site without having to link to their personal information or websites. Something like this: http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=22762

4. Give people more opportunity to earn medals.

5. When are you doing your next fundraiser / Ad-Free Premium drive?
Instead of repping users, I'd like to advocate a thumbs up/thumbs down feature, per post, and make it anonymous so it couldn't be abused like the rep feature was.

I'd rather just make it thumbs up and nix the thumbs down. All it's going to do is be abused like reps were and we mods will end up cleaning it up.

I think that could be solved fairly easily by allowing mods and admins to track those thumbs, either up or down. You could put up a summary page, showing the percentages for each poster, as well as who they most often thumb, and the percentages of up or down as related to those posts they thumb. It should be pretty easy to figure out who the problem children are, who they spend most of their time giving problems to, and lead them in the direction of the best solution for solving the problem.

Tracking is fairly easy, if you code it into the mix.
Under "quick reply", when you un-check signature and post, the signature shows up. I would like for that to be fixed so that I can post on the ODU board without my Spin Room political BS showing up and derailing otherwise sports related discussion.

If it's anonymous, people won't know whom gave their post a thumbs down, therefore it'll be hard for there to be thumb down wars that needs to be cleaned up the same way that reps used to be.

Have to agree to do just thumbs up. Some posters are like little children and get all out of sorts with anything negative attaching to them or their posts. Some would do thumbs down just because they do not like the posters, and the posters would start striking out.
Pathetic but true.

Exactly.
How about thumbs up = unlimited, but thumbs down can only bring you back down to 0. in other words it nullifies the positives.

Sounds fine to me. It would accomplish the same ends.

3) That is what imgur.com is for ... better their bandwidth than mine.

5) Hopefully never ... really only needed when major server equipment changes happen / I haven't yet automated removing AFP subscriptions when they expire ... so there are a bunch of freeloaders I need to boot off.
1. Agree with the thumbs up only concept.

2. Put a limit on the size of sigs. Some of them are a page long.
How about being able to go to the first unread message in a thread?
