You would not be able to start a thread on that site, but would be able to read the posts to decide whether or not you wanted to go to that board to participate in a discussion. There would be no need for a moderator for the site because it would simply be a reading site. Any bans that apply to posters would be in effect when they travel to a board that they are banned from. All moderation would still be handled at the individual board sites.
It would permit Lurkers and visitors to check out the most active threads without having to navigate between them and would be easier than navigating the new posts feature because it would segregate the hottest threads away from the other posts.
I think such a feature would generate hits and newcomers. JR

You could put up a summary page, showing the percentages for each poster, as well as who they most often thumb, and the percentages of up or down as related to those posts they thumb. It should be pretty easy to figure out who the problem children are, who they spend most of their time giving problems to, and lead them in the direction of the best solution for solving the problem.(07-08-2014 09:07 AM)ClairtonPanther Wrote: [ -> ]Instead of repping users, I'd like to advocate a thumbs up/thumbs down feature, per post, and make it anonymous so it couldn't be abused like the rep feature was.I'd rather just make it thumbs up and nix the thumbs down. All it's going to do is be abused like reps were and we mods will end up cleaning it up.

Some would do thumbs down just because they do not like the posters, and the posters would start striking out.(07-08-2014 09:07 AM)ClairtonPanther Wrote: [ -> ]Instead of repping users, I'd like to advocate a thumbs up/thumbs down feature, per post, and make it anonymous so it couldn't be abused like the rep feature was.

Pathetic but true.

I could probably add a Vitality page that updates once/twice a day showing top threads site wide. How does that sound?

If gaming the system is a concern, have it only available to trusted users using some threshold like current reputation, posts, how long they have been on the site etc. Make it a privilege.
2. Eliminate the MySpace TV posting code and add code to post Vine videos.
3. Build an Anonymous Image Uploader so people can post personal pictures to the site without having to link to their personal information or websites. Something like this: http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=22762
4. Give people more opportunity to earn medals.
5. When are you doing your next fundraiser / Ad-Free Premium drive?
