Even that can't get me interested in World Cup soccer.

You probably do not understand the game and not interested in learning the game. That is how I feel about hockey.
Saw him over the weekend. Some great games so far in the knock out round.

correct, and correct.
Is there actually a Memphis connection to his name? I know he's dropped his last name from his jersey because his father was never in his life.

Remove the goalie and it'd be a good game.

I grew up playing football, basketball and baseball, before soccer got big so I am not all that interested in watching MLS or Euro-league. But on this stage it is really very entertaining and you do get an appreciation for the extraordinary skills these players have.

Yep, I can respect what they do, just like I can respect tennis players, golfers, baseball players, etc. Plus, sports in June and July are non-existent, I'll take what I can get.

Also, America. How can you not cheer on your country?

good point. How many games does the USA have to lose before we win the whole thing?

The Google has proved little help in this matter.
I enjoyed the indoor soccer team we had. The Rouges I think it was. Faster game.

Well, if or when the US drops out, I won't be watching any more World Cup,

I live in the united states and will always call it soccer I guess...
Kinda like when I cook hamburgers on the grill I'm grilling, not barbecuing--much to the dismay of my friend from California.

Either way it might as well be called suckball as far as I'm concerned.
