The boards will arrive July 22. The 1,250 SQFT board will be placed behind the Sound of the South (the marching band) in the SE corner of the stadium. Ribbon boards will be installed on both decks. The big board will not replace the jumbotron (main board) in the north endzone. Troy AD Hartwell says this indicates that the wheels are moving for the installment of the 28 million dollar end-zone facility.
That Hemi Guy guessed right again! Man he's lucky.....:)

I'm getting really excited about being a member of the SBC, you see almost all the schools aggressively trying to improve their athletics, no one seems to be satisfied with the status que. One of the reasons we left the Sothern Conference is, with the exception of Georgia Southern, the other schools either didn't have the resources, or they were unwilling to spend the money to improve their facilities. We were by far the most aggressive and willing to spend money, and it showed when compared to the other schools. Now, it looks like we are behind the curve in some aspects, and we need to pick up our game to keep up with the other SBC schools, this is great!!!
I like ribbon boards. They add a lot of atmosphere if you have a crowd.

Congrats Trojans.
great news

do you have a story link or a link to a press release on this? thanks
That's a pretty massive board! Nice!!!!

The video ribbons are gonna look sweet!

I bet we break ground on the endzone after this season
To give u an idea of the size of this video board Trojan arenas video boards are
750sq feet and those are the largest video boards in college basketball... The one we are about to install are 1,250sq feet. Nearly double the size.

Estimated cost of this is 2.1 million and will be ready for Duke game.

I believe Arkansas State is installing a 1,600 SQFT board. And Louisiana's is going to be similar in size to ASUs.

Keep in kind the 1,250 SQFT board we are building is not and will not be the main video board. When the endzone facility is built a new scoreboard will also be built somewhere in the north endzone. That will be the main video board, though I have no idea what size that board will be.

Unless plans have changed a similar sized board will be directly across from the new one being installed this year, when the facility is built.

Ah I was going off the old info then.

But your right we will have more than 1 of that size eventually.

I see. So we'll have two corner boards. I thought I saw a rendering with a board on the actually end-zone facility, front facing. Just the two corner boards or a third board on the end-zone complex?
As I understood it's two corner video boards. That's how it was explained to me. One above the SOTS and the other in the opposite corner.
I was looking at old information.... But in any case the 1,250 sq foot board won't be our main video board.
Sounds like Troy will be serving hops at games this year per our "psychic" new sign off phrase.....

With a little Hank Jr on the new video board, we may push for longest pregame in FBS!

I think it's safe to assume that beer will be sold at Troy games this year. It was sold at the Spring game.
