to dishonor Western in any way, no matter how much fun it would be.
You should be proud of your time in the SBC, and we should all wish you
well, and pull for you any time you are playing other CUSA teams. Have
seen posters ruin their schools reputation by needless junk just before they change
conferences. Whether it's from wanting schools to be envious of them or
a reaffirmation of what they are doing. Rather you be remembered with good thoughts.

The shuffling of conferences only to end up with two conferences that are pretty much the same level has given us some humorous situations. I understand why some programs left. The perception of the patch on the sleeve, the temporary boost in money and for some a chance to play more teams from their region. All of that except the regional issues will level out so it is six of one, half dozen....

Both leagues are mikely going to be one bid leagues in basketball most years. Both are going to be hard pressed to earn a playoff spot until it expands well beyond 4 teams.

USM and La. Tech fans are bummed that they are in a conference with former SBC. Some SBC fans are bummed that they are in a conference with Idaho, Ga. State, etc. It still comes down to how well you can tap into your fanbase to fund your program, how welll you recruit your region and the people you hire to coach.

You will still have the ability to stink really bad in either conference if you don't take care of your business and neither conference is going to give you a leg up recruiting against the big boys.

The only conferences that you could ride the coattails was the old WAC and MWC with BS, or some in the SEC do without winning much. It's basically up to the coaches in football, basketball or whatever to do it for the individual schools. After all in football CUSA ranked first right....no must have been second....well at least third....surely fourth....well, guess they finished last in G5, which guess would have been fourth if the new AAC was still counted as a P5 conference one last year.
CUSA threads are hard to read when you have UNT bragging, and now Marshall has been doing well finally having a 10-4 season (after 5-7, 7-6, and 5-7 the three previous years), and ODU expects to win the world, ODU and uncc having some of the most arrogant fans in the world considering neither have really done anything yet. With so many former Sun Belt teams always comes around to how much better they are than -----the SBC. Then UTSA after giving away free tickets with buckets of KFC chicken are gloating. WKU going there next week are thrilled to not hear junk anymore from MTSU fans. Comes down to being a cluster----.
