CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati has earned an at-large bid to the 2006 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament. The Bearcats (11-5-2) will travel to Evanston, Ill., to take on Northwestern (11-7-0) in the first round on Friday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. ET.

"Obviously, we're happy to get in," head coach Hylton Dayes said. "We felt good going in, but until you see your name pop up, you never know."

Cincinnati will make its third NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. The Bearcats lost in the first round at Butler, 1-0, in overtime in 1998. UC played Kentucky to a scoreless draw before falling on penalty kicks in 2003.

St. John's claimed its first BIG EAST Championship title since 2001 and grabbed the league's automatic bid into this year's national tournament. BIG EAST Championship runner-up West Virginia earned a No. 6 seed, the highest placement in program history, while Notre Dame is the No. 12 seed. St. John's, Connecticut and Rutgers will all have home games on their respective campuses, while Cincinnati and Providence will be on the road. All first-round games will be played on either Nov. 10 or 11, with the second-round games comensing on the Nov. 15.
