My personal feeling is that of disappointment. Though we knew most of (if not all) of these games prior, seeing it as our schedule is underwhelming. No signature game and really nothing outside of the old CAA. Though a long shot, if we have any thought of an at-large bid, there is not much meat to bolster our resume.
Pretty pathetic. Almost have to go 10-2 to have a chance, maybe losing one to VCU or Richmond and one at the Paradise Jam. Even that may not be bubble worthy. Only one road game? Couldn't find a couple of guarantee games i/o UMES and Mt. St. Mary's?
Here it is. Though the schedule could be stronger, it should generate considerable fan interest and put rear-ends in the seats at the Ted with UNCW, Richmond, VCU, Georgia State, and W&M -- and that's a good thing. With all games at home except for the Paradise Jam and George Mason, the Monarchs should go into conference play with some momentum. I like it.

Nov. 15 (Sat.) UNC Wilmington
Nov. 18 (Tue.) Richmond
Nov. 21-24 (Fri.-Mon.)at Paradise Jam Tournament
Nov. 29 (Sat.) VCU
Dec. 3 (Wed.) at George Mason
Dec. 14 (Sat.) NC A&T
Dec. 17 (Wed.) Georgia State
Dec. 19 (Fri.) UMES
Dec. 22 (Mon.) William & Mary
Dec. 29 (Mon.) Mount St. Mary’s
I do like that the VCU game is Thanksgiving weekend. Just can't believe GMU is the only road game.
Some of these games we didn't have a choice in playing, right? I know some were home and home.
Ehh. Maybe we can finally win at the Patriot Center. Haven't done that in years.
this is a weak schedule. we need to get that series with G'town back up and running again!

Can't get Georgetown because our RPI isn't good enough because we can't get Georgetown
Let's get back to regularly beating W&M and Georgia State before we complain too much about not scheduling Georgetown. We haven't done that in a while.

Interesting that we only have one road game. I wonder if we will eventually squeeze a game or two in between Mason and A&T.

No kidding. With that home schedule we could have gone on the road, to a BCS team or 2, improved our OOC SOS and got paid. Win/Win
I spoke out in favor of trolling for a big-time opponent for a one-shot road deal, but ODU basketball is still a work in progress, and the more reliable path to the NCAAs is still going to be the CUSA tourney. Besides, VCU, Richmond and Georgia State are going to be enough of a challenge. And lots of regional games at the Ted will ensure ODU is easily has the second-best attendance in the conference (kinda hard to catch up to UTEP).

I can deal with this.
I will say that I like the early release date. In the past, the ODU Basketball schedule was a deep dark secret until late August (if we were lucky)
Face it, it's going to take another good season for the bigger boys to take us as relevant again. Best last year's record this season, and next year should have a much higher profile on the schedule
+1 ^^^^

We were so bad in 2012-13, Seth Greenberg would have scheduled us.

When the students are home and a bunch of fans probably already have plans for a football game in Boca Raton (FAU).

Georgia State, UNCW, GMU, VCU, W&M (and possibly Richmond) are all part of multi game contracts signed last year or earlier.

Only positive from this schedule.

...

UMES and NC A&T are no win situations as they were both in the bottom 15 of RPI (348 and 338 respectively out of 351) which will cause our RPI to drop even with wins.

Mt. St. Marys at least made the tournament last year as the NEC autobid.

I got a good chuckle when I read your post. Good one.
Looks like I'll have a good excuse to not buy season tickets again next year.

Pretty weak sauce. Maybe we can get va Wesleyan and cnu on the schedule in 15-16.

I think the 50 people that were looking at going to Florida Atlantic will rethink their plans and if we are decent there will be no attendance issues for this one.

Hope this represents a short term strategy to get our record back up to snuff. Long term as a strategy it's horrible.
RR, you probably shouldn't buy season tickets. Considering they are offering buy one, get one free season tickets to others who have bailed, by next year, maybe they will offer to pay you to buy them, while those who've stayed loyal will have their prices jacked up some more.
